Podcasting
Want to say something off topic? Something that has nothing to do with Trek? Post it here.

What is podcasting you may ask.
Think how a desktop aggregator works. You subscribe to a set of feeds, and then can easily view the new stuff from all of the feeds together, or each feed separately.
Podcasting works the same way, with one exception. Instead of reading the new content on a computer screen, you listen to the new content on an iPod or iPod-like device.
Think of your iPod as having a set of subscriptions that are checked regularly for updates. Today there are a limited number of programs available this way. The format used is RSS 2.0 with enclosures.
In the future, radio shows like All Things Considered and Rush Limbaugh will be available in this manner, and perhaps other syndication formats will support enclosure

I love the whole idea of having audio media on a broad variety of subjects that arent covered anywhere else in such a medium.
A couple of my favorite podcasts are:
Diggnation, This is the official podcast of Digg.com a great user based news/social bookmarking site. I dont even visit slashdot anymore beacuse of digg, and the hosts of diggnation are prety good and make it a good show. If your ever on digg, add me too your friendlist (cys006) y not t on digg.
This week in tech: This Week In Tech, this show basicly has a panel of people commenting on current tech news, taking calls from people, and awnsering tech questions.
A great site to find podcasts is Odeo.
Besides podcasts ive also found some interesting Vidcasts/IP TV shows.
Diggnation has a vidcast if audio isnt your thing, but the company that produces Diggnation,(Revision3) also has 2 other shows (systm being a tech show dedicated to projects like making homemade AV cables or a homemade TiVo ala Myth TV, and the broken is a shady slightly underground show about hacking/cracking and social enginering) and more in the works.
Another Show I found of intrest was From the Shadows. In there first show they tested the wireless capabilitys of portable gaming devices, in the second they explore "toy" lightsabers, a little more advanced then those cheap plastic toys you buy in stores. In the third show they explore wep cracking and do a PSP mod.
