Photoshop-like program

Does anyone know where I can find a free program like Photoshop (trial ran out) than can make curved text, similar to Starship registries?

I feel sorry for you. The way how I get curved text is extract it from a program that supports it into a blank image, then I select the text itself (without the stupid text box bg) and I put it on the ship. In fact, that is how I am working on my hero ship right now. :D

Edit: But of course I stick to Adobe Photoshop Elements 5.0 or later. ;) It is the perfect photo editor.

easy to find:

Paint.NET - Free Software for Digital Photo Editing

it misses a bit the comfort(as example automatic functions) of Photoshop, but overall it has still the same tools

altho free its a pain to do alphas on but u can always do the alphas and nor textures as seperate images save as bmp files and use ms3d (if u have it) to combine them into a tga with alpha

I just found that out... I think I'll look for another program. The 'lightmap' thing combined with the inability to change color and the irritating fact that curved text requires every letter selected, moved and rotated individually is making this thing a headache.

Not helping much for BC Registries.

You might also want to try GIMP, after you're done with those above.
