64 years ago today, thousands of brave Allied soldiers stormed a small strip of beaches in france, In what was the largest gathering of forces ever, and wrought the beginning of the end for Hitler's "Glorious Third Reich." In one day, Allied soldiers kicked the door into Hitlers vaulted ''Fortress Europa", which had taken him the better part of 5+ years to create.  Thousands lost their lives, and thousands more were doomed to lose theirs, as the conflict did not end until almost one year later.  But today, June 6, is the day that spelled the beginning of the end for Hitler's Germany.

It's hard to find anything truly appropriate to say, so I will just state that I (and of course many others) am grateful for their sacrifices, and their memories shall always live on.
