Mechwarrior 5 planned! Hell YES!

In the year 2003 all dev in order to bring out a new Mechwarrior game stopped.
The best game until now was in my eyes Mechwarrior 2 - Mercenaries. After the 3D Patch and the ability to get "real" capturable mechs, that game took off borders never reached in gameplay so far.
The story was and is epic, the feeling of the game was and is great, you have a personal notebook were the main character writes down his "feelings" in a "bad guy" way. It was one of the few games, where you were the bad guy. Only some games like "klingon Academy" were also supposed to deliver a game feeling like this.
The game was great and then was Mechwarrior 3 released. This game was awesome too. You did'nt walk with "mech-boxes" around, you walked with "real" mechs, great physics and a nice combat system. The disadvantage was, that you only walked on a single planet and that the surrounding was every time the same. The maps were great, the mini-map had a real battle-feeling and there were plenty of tactical and strategic options. But they were senseless, because every player shoot on the leg, the enemy mech was done for. So it was able to fight with a 30 ton mech against a 100 ton monster with a real chance to win without making a great deal.
Mechwarrior 4:
Well, the graphic was a downgrade. No real physics, no adaptive capturing, all battletech rules were overwritten, head management was bad, no real game feeling and a static story.
In all fields a decrease in game dev. The only thing you had were that you pilots were able to gain experience. That was the only good thing on this game. The rest... a game for childs.
Ever battletech-lover awaited Mechwarrior 5 in order to get a game back that is worth the name and in 2003, the dev was set on hold.
BUT now, we have a new hope!
After a group of crysis modders made the attempt to change crysis into a mechwarrior game http://www.mechlivinglegends.net/ but only with a static engine that is not able to fully implement the battletech rules (but this is only a small disadvantage, because they found a good midway) and ONLY able to play in multiplayer (So you cant play for yourself) a new hope arises:
Mechwarrior 5!
This game will be the start of a new series, staring at 3015. So plenty of time to the clan invasion, the fed-sun/steiner war and so on...
Imagine. With this game doing a mercenant and play in with the clan invasion, getting back destroyed mechs, have a full fledged economy for yourself, customizable mechs, aircraft, tanks, artillery, dropships, space-fights, maybe infantery-missions and all kinds of tactical and strategical abilities.

I assume Mechwarrior and Mechassault are one and the same, or am I wrong? I loved Mechassault 2: Lone Wolf on the first Xbox.

Mechassault is a little bit based on Battletech but... BUT:
Mechs dont have shields, your can regenerate them, a small mech can never stand against an assault mech and so on. Mech-Assault is... hav can I tell it... a ping-pong game when compared to the real battletech rules.
You have to (when you play the right rules) think before you fire, you have to manage your system, to balance your mech out, to look on your advantages and weak points, on the terrain, on the enemy scouts and so on. Battletech is, so to say "real".

i have seen that last week and look absolutely forward to mechwarrior 5. actually i though we would never see a new installment of mechwarrior as the license was *somewhere*. what i hope is that it doesn't get too "arcade" orientated but keeps the simulation flavour of it's predecessors
though i played a lot more mw4 than mw3 i think in some parts mw4 had some setbacks over mw3. graphics which were partly better in mw 3, the universe environment/"feeling" in mw3 was much closer to battletech, mw4 also had some good advantages like multiplayer, easier battlemech configuration, but overall was a bit sterile. that improved a lot with the mercenaries addon for mw4 i'd say

well there are plans to release mw4 for free: MechWarrior To Be Distributed Free On BattleTech.com - BattleTech: 25 Years of Heavy Metal Mayhem.
and another person told that it will include all the add-ons and packs all in one installer.
so, i guess, we will get some entertainment

OOPS I think Stiener falls down ,goes BOOM.
I love them All from MW2 to MW Mercanaries. Hopefully they will get some Seige mechs.(over 100 tons) love the way the developers implemented my ultra light "Flea Mech" Idea. I say it is my Mech when the developers had a contest I came up with the Idea , but never got credit for it . Hopefully It wont be only for consoles only but for PC as well.

I think I played an earlier version on Win 98 some 9 years ago. It was cool when I had it. But i didn't have it for long... but I swear that looks like a modernized version of what i played.
All I remember from it is slow moving mechs, plasma bolts and missles, and having to steal other people's mechs. And these weird turrets with some weapon that destroys all mechs within one hit...
