Mac: Deimos Rising

Sorta random. There was this game that came with computers that I had about a decade ago on an old family mac computer.

Does anyone know about Deimos Rising?, it came with older macs around 9-10+ years ago.

Anyways, it was one of my favourite all-time games. It was fun to keep playing even after I beat it.

It was 12 levels, you had this vac-fighter or something, can't remember... up to 9 lives, shield and hull strength type of thing.

Does anyone know anything about this? Is it possible to somehow get this these days? I couldn't find any way to get it through ways I know of... but maybe someone in the community knows something. I don't want to buy an older mac that comes with, more through somehow getting the game itself on a cd maybe?

I'm pretty sure it isn't possible, I was trying to get it 5-6 years ago and gave up.. but who knows.

Oh hey, I remember that game!  Man, some of those early ones were incredible.

Raiden X

This one is my favorite, you should check it out as well.  My first big memory of playing a computer game is when I was like 6 and my dad and I spent like 5 pounds playing a Raiden arcade game.  I pushed the shoot button and he moved the jet  B)

raiden x was one of the first flash games i played years ago. i remember playing it at school instead of using the computers for something educational.

i still have one of those very computers, a g3 imac (from a time when i respected Apple). i managed one of the it suites so they let me have one of the g3s instead of them going to the crushers, only problem was there wasn't a single fully working g3 in the building, i had to cannibalise 3 of them to get the parts for my one. i won't throw that old computer away, even though it's really old.

as we're drowning in nostalgia, tardis tennis and sticky wicket were pretty big back then.

EDIT: updated link for tardis tennis.

:)

I did try that site in the past, for some reason, I don't remember what, it didn't seem to work. I think it was in the final transfer download, it just cut out and never finished... er I dunno.

But I'm currently using 10.7.1, the system requirements state it only works up to 10.6, and that it does not work on anything 10.7 or above. Unfortunately.

 but if that had been the solution, would have been sweet despite the obviousness of it.

Yes, the game was amazing. I could go right to level 11 without losing a single life. Then I'd lose one or two in level 11, but it gives you a free life in level 11 so it was fine. Then I'd go into level 12 with something like 8-9 lives and win. I think you almost have to die 2-3 times in that last level. Those spiked things that chase you and can't be killed  :pinch:, and those black rectangular things that were also not killable but if you touched one instant death  :pinch: and everything else.... lol

But really, levels 1-5 were excellent warm up, 6-9 were perfect for medium game play, and 10-12 were a decent challenge.

I might have to look out for raiden X.

In the meantime... maybe I should look at the second and third google links  but I dunno, its surprising that it didn't work before when I was trying way back when. Now with that outline about 10.7 they might not be upgrading it anymore.

according to the game's website it works on windoze as well.

if you play fleetops then i assume you are handling playing windoze games already.

yep

haven't even thought about the game for 3-4 years now.

i actually thought it was a mac game, never had any reason to look for pc compatibility. (I've only recently had a pc, for about year and a half now)

thanks.
