Nice! But never let your children get close to it. That stuff is quite dangerous for the eyes.

Okay, what about having a large set of laser emmiters inserted into a Phaser Rifle? (Like, 8 lasers?)

I believe the UK military fiddled with the concept of lasers for use as hand weapons and as main guns on tanks but rejected the idea because the intensity of the laser tend to dimish rapidly over range and because their effect is not exactly prompt. (It's like slightly warming an armour plate until eventually, it might crack). Pretty crap.

On the otherhand, the British and Americans are supposedly working on cloaking tanks which bend light around the tank so that what is behind the tanks, becomes projected onto it's body, so that it becomes invisible to the naked eye. Sound familiar? The conceptual origins happen to be with our very own Rommie's :woot:. Apparently, it's been tested in the field of battle, to great effect.

Aye, ship mounted rail guns. I'd hate to get hit by one...

I think the UK equivalent is a system called Goalkeeper but it's pretty much just a computer controlled Gatling Gun; a far cry from the sheer bullet riddling that a Rail Gun could offer.
