It's finally appropiate to piss on a grave.

They did. the US gov is holding the footage right now, but it will be released.

AS much as Im glad to see this over with, Im kinda wondering why they didnt arrest his ass - obviously I havent read any of the articles on what went down. But I think it would be far more just and satisfying to have him stand trial for his crimes, rather than this " hes dead, we shot him and dumped his body in the ocean business" which does seem a little suspect.

well if they arrest such a high profile person they are just asking for trouble. prison breaks, attacks on prison transport vehicles etc.
loads more trouble than its worth.
to get proper security they would need to deny so many basic rights to him, which would obviously be heavily reported. it would be a nightmare. plus i doubt he would make it very easy to capture him, i figure he'd rather die than be a prisoner.

Apparently he started firing on the SEAL team, he didnt want to go quietly so he took a bullet to the face.

Ahh ok, makes sense to me. Though who the hell in the chain of command authorized dumping his body in the ocean.... really? No offense but this was just plain stupid in my opinion. I think its more important to bring the body back to confirm ID, I dont care what anyone says you should still follow some sort of protocol, and then once the media storm has subsided dispose of the body properly. This whole thing strikes me as something a bunch of drunken redneck hill billys would do. No offense to hill billys intended

well if they buried his body in the ground you'd be straight back to security issues as people would try to exume him or destroy his remains etc. it would be a flash point for opposing groups.
same thing if they make a memorial or something without the body. when 1 man gets people on both sides so angry he just has to disappear.
i think it was decent of the people who killed him to observe some of his religion's burial rights in the way they did, and give him a burial. rather than just cremate him.
now come the conspiracy theories that the cia built a super secret submarine with a cloaking device and went to recover osama's body to examine it and make sure he's not a robot

Well apparently they took DNA samples and the reason given for dumping him was that no country wanted him buried on their land. I agree it made sense to keep the body at first but whats the point, as long as they have a DNA sample thats all you need. They also apparently did pictures and used facial recognition software too. THe only purpos for keeping the body at that point would be showing it off which if you start doing that you would bring a media storm of hell on you for being so disrespectful, even if he is a mass murderer. I mean really whats the point of keeping it? To show everyone "LOOK AT THAT CORPSE!" That wouldnt go over well with alot of people. In the end I can understand the reasoning.

I suppose dumping him in the ocean wasnt a bad thing - however you guys kinda jumped to conclusions here. I guess my real problem is how quickly this all happened. I seriously doubt any commanding officer would allow the body being stored on his vessel or base to paraded like a trophy. While I do think it hard to remain objective about the situation since this man has affected many people across the world, isnt that the point of military training, or even mores so Officers training? They could have atleast waited a week, stored the body in the morgue, then dispose of him in any way that seems appropriate.
Not that I want to be a conspiracy theorist or anything like that.... But this is wrapped up real nice and pretty, we go in and shoot this guy... bam dead! supposedly pull DNA and run facial recognition and dump his body in the ocean all in the span of, what? 24 hours. Meanwhile we have an influx of news about it with nothing but older pictures of him and script stating hes dead, and a nice story of US Navy SEALs demonstrating once again US tactical superiority. I wont hold my breath waiting for some real pics or the video. which will probably end up classified or too graphic for people to see.

you are right that even if evidence existed, now tv channel would show pictures of his dead body, that would be weird.

They waited a week, did a DNA test, and multiple other methods of checking, THEN fed em to the fishies.

Likely a photoshop.
What I'd like to see is guncam footage from the SEAL that double tapped his face.

Actually the way that it was done prevented anyone from asking for the body so its prolly for the best and disposing of it in the ocean prevents anyone from really being able to find it.

That and it was done within 24 hours in accordance with Islamic Tradition. The idea behind this was not to infuriate Muslims the world over, but to do the job we've been trying to do for 10 years, get it done cleanly, and have it been over with without pissing off more people.
