Interesting FSX Landing
Want to say something off topic? Something that has nothing to do with Trek? Post it here.

Well, I recently flying the 737 on FSX trying to find a way to get the plane onto the runway. Then I had a slight malfunction with the controls. The throttle got stuck at full power and I had to shut the engines down.
I brought the plane around and lined it up with the runway slowing it down by extending and retracting the spoilers. I overshot the runway and when I landed, I realized that the runway was a lot smaller than I thought it was. Both in width and length. Well, the landing was perfect up to the point where the plane rolled off of the runway and into the grass where the plane finally stopped.

Haha, try taking off of the aircraft carrier...... in an airbus...... yeah i did it, you have to go into y mode to place is right on the edge of the carrier, but once you do that if you get the flaps right and such, and control the throttle right, such as putting engines on full with parking break, and then right nose pitch, you can get it to get enough speed to go off the end, and it will drop, and you will only be about oh idk, touching the water(haha, i actually had about 5 feet) but you can get it to take off without dying
Curiously you cant with the bombadier crj, but you can land one on fsx, i dont think you can take off in a 737, but you might be able to land one.... i dont think so tho
Taking off of the carrier tho, in that airbus, omg that was so fun, i almost hit the water.... you can find the carrier, either in the flour-bag mission, or in the caravan mission....
Btw in the Caravan mission, you have to land the caravan on the aircraft carrier, which is a pain in the ass, however there is an alternative, when you loose power, then what you need to do is switch to the auxiliary fuel tank i belive, and you can restart and continue

Well, there was once I was flying the 747. I was trying to take off but the aircraft wouldn't take off. Even through I had passed take off speed. I decided to try to stop the plane but I ended up in the water.
Another time, I was in the 747 and I ended overshot the runway, this time, I not only ended up in the grass, but I went into the water at about 60 kts. I think it was caused by another controller malfunction.
There was once I was in FS98 and I missed my turn during the final approach. I was looking for the runway when I clipped a building and the simulation ended.
There was once I was flying in Orbiter with the Warp Drive addon. I hit the planet Mars so hard that Orbiter crashed.

Yeah that was one thing that bugged me bout FS is it was too hard to tell when you would die, and when you would die, would would just freeze or somthing,
One time in the Snow rescue mission (which i could never finish cus i always ran out of power at high altitude for some reason) i took off in the maule and i put it in the water, with just the nose sticking out of the water, and i lived....... and i was going like 50 mph, and a little bit of the wings were under water as well,

High altitude in a prop plane. Lean the mixture a little at a time until the RPM stops increasing. The mixture is usually a red lever. I think there are some flight lessons on mixture as well as documentation.
