I'm new... be nice

Want to say something off topic? Something that has nothing to do with Trek? Post it here.

Hello there!

Just wanted to drop by and introduce myself to all of you Star Trek and Armada 2 fans alike! I first got the original Armada on release and I was hooked to the RTS gameplay mixed with one of my favourite franchises. So without hesitation I bought Armada 2 on release aswell, completing it in a few days and spending the rest of my time online... oh the memories. So anyway it was after a clear-out of my office/study I discovered the box covered in dust and thought to myself "lets relive the magic" :woot:

So I've been back in the game for about 2 weeks now and came across Fleet Ops and well to be quite honest it blew me away. The sheer amount it adds to such an old game is incredible, revitalising it to distract me from my other modern RTS's like Company of Heroes and Sins of a Solar Empire lol

So well done to the team who've done so much work, I thank you. And to the rest of you I hope to catch some of you in multiplayer at some point.

Fact is most game forums, like it or not, new players are shunned as 'noobs'... it may be different here but i'm just acting on experience.

Ewm has dyslexia....
...so that really was a low blow.

And BTW ewms' spelling has really improved if you compare to when he first came here, so take it easy and chill out.

On most forums i visit a "Noob" is a new person who displays a lack of experience, often combined with big talk and a general unwillingness to learn.

A newbie is just someone who has just arrived and therefor doesn't have the wealth of experience of "older" players. However a newbie is willing to learn and listen.

Overall: newbie = good + noob = bad
