Humans are from space
Want to say something off topic? Something that has nothing to do with Trek? Post it here.

Personally, I have no particular interest in religion but this video seems to share my belief that God and Jesus (if they existed) were aliens similar to a Q.

nice to see people base their beliefs on cartoons.
You should watch maitres du temps. Maybe it'll inspire a little gnostic variety for ya
btw -did u read the latest findings - scientists are still unsure as to what caused the divergence between man and apes.. as per recent analysis, it may have been some meteoric explosion in the past... so hey you never know we may have mormon scientists sabotaging things there...lol.

I'm not a mormon, I just wondered what people think of this take on the creation. I find it interesting to watch.
Mormon's probably won't be the only ones sabotaging evolution evidence.

if there were such evidence.. surely... but it depends on how u define "evolution" and how you define "evidence".
btw - never meant to imply u were mormon... sorry if it came off that way

Yeah, it is racist. It could have been worse though, at least it didn't put black people as the Lucifer followers.
If they did that, imagine Mormons preaching to black people. That would be funny for anyone except the Mormons that were preaching.
The video looks like a cheesy Sci-Fi from the 60's.

queer sense of humor...
btw - this alien origin theory is not pure mormonism in origin. It traces itself back to the early 17th and 18th century gnostic philosophies related to Atlantis and uebermensch ideologies as well.
Certain streams of thought even those of HP Lovecraft and Goethe were believed to hold the Aryan evolutionary phase of mankind as the result of some interbreeding of man with some higher species.
Being Christians, they used the "mated the sons of heaven with the daughters of the earth" verse of the OT to lay out a foundation for this ideology.
Helena P Blavatsky was also of this gnostic family.
Some even went as far - and today some conspiracy theorists - also levy outrageous claims that certain members of the modern Illuminati are alien reptilians on Earth.
So this idea in of itself isn't limited to mormonism, it s pretty ubiquitous in most fringe schools of thought - and i use the word loosely when describing those ideas.

If they're preaching to someone with a temper, it will be funny. There is a video on YouTube about a couple of Mormon's preaching to a couple of black guy who knew the scriptures much better than they did, it quickly became the Mormons trying to avoid further embarrasment.

mormons don't actually know a scripture. they take stuff from the book of mormon, mix it with what is gleaned from the OT and NT.
In that sense they are pretty much like most Protesants. Catholics are a little different, they hold some trace to the early christian schools - albeit the one regulated and changed to meet the needs of the Imperator Maximus of the time

Hey, hey, HEY! >:( I'm Roman Catholic, y'know, and I find that offensive. JK, not really, but we were the first form of organized Christianity. By the way, if you read the Bible carefully, you'll see that there was a heiarchy.

I had no idea that Mormonism was so wierd, its got alot in common with scientology by the looks of things.
funny thing is though the story is quite outlandish and racist at the start, it becomes plainly annoying when it tries to tie itself it to america, its like on documentrys when there talking about the crusades only to immediately follow up with the line "then the founding fathers..."
