Hot Router
Want to say something off topic? Something that has nothing to do with Trek? Post it here.

Ok, got a question. What problems can arise with a possibly overheating router? Sure my router is not good, but it has wide open vents. And when I went to pick it up for model info it was really hot (the heat traveled from my hand up my arm).
Sure I hate the router, but I just want to know what problems might arise and what might cause it to overheat like this.

Well if it's that hot it might start a fire, I
not sure about that however
Only other thing overheating would do is burn it out.
It could be that it's old, how old is it?
It may just be dieing but make sure that it isn't covered in dust and isn't in a cornner, make sure it has good air flow to it
if it is actually that hot, you should get a new one and toss the old one, pr use it for cooking

Check the vents see if they are dust covered also check to see A) if it has a fan and
if its working. If its little hot it prolly wont kill it but if its burn your fingers warm it not a good thing.

Go pick up a 5 dollar fan from Walmart. It works the easiest. If you place it right, you can also get extra air to your pc tower.
