Yeah, the show is amazing !  :woot: Very well written, beautifully shot, good cast, incredible storyline. Sadly, no TV network  in my country is broadcasting it, but who cares, as long as internet is running and some good people record it and makes it available to all. Even more sadly is that the show is on the verge of being cancelled because too few people watch it (a little over 4 millions). Only american fans can do something about it, it's so frustrating. It will be a huge loss as there are no other good sci-fi shows running at the moment. Hard times for sci-fi fans.  :(
So, to all americans, please watch the show or at least tune in on FOX Fridays at 9 PM and let it run for hour. I will consider it a personal favor. Thanks.

thats a common problem, same thing with SGU, syfy channel in america were the only people who could decide the future of a problem that is watched worldwide. syfy in uk doesnt even show it, sky1 does lol. but only the idiots at syfy can decide, and these are the people that randomly move shows around to different slots (losing casual viewers), who show wrestling despite being called syfy, who changed their name to "syfy", and who put massive gaps between the first and second half of shows, which gutted SGUs first season as it was meant to be shown all at once, its like the syfy executives didnt even bother watching the show they were buying, or emailing the producers and asking for their opinion. they blundered into it, portraying themselves as arrogant idiots. and the fans were the casualties of their mistake.

and non american channels dont help at all, sky1 here refused to show it at the same time as in america. with atlantis it was sometimes in sync accross the pond, and when america had a pause for some cultural reason, the uk ended up screening atlantis a week or two in advance. but with SGU they show them all over a week later for some insane reason. and they wonder why i simply pirate it a few hours after it is screened in america.

and the ratings obviously dont take into account pirate viewers, as you cant sell adverts to pirates.

but they do ignore a lot of people who LEGALLY watch it, such as those who watch on hulu (does that have adverts, hulu only works in usa), but because mgm agreed directly with hulu and no hulu ad revenue goes to syfy, syfy doesnt care. and those who record it and watch it later, they can skip ads with fast forward, so syfy half ignored them too. so they end up considering only the people who watched it live, who probably turned down/muted the adverts, or went and made a cuppa anyway. all these new ways to watch tv shows, they sometimes hurt the shows, as networks cant sell adverts and wont pay studios for the show.

Sadly, you're right. The tvshows are, for them, just a way to gather the target public in front of the TV and put them commercials. That's it. Nothing else matters.  :crybaby:

Fringe is great, but I've been having a similar problem to Z in that I haven't been able to watch it on TV recently. I have been watching it on Hulu though (and yes, there are ads). The original plan was to watch it on Fox's website, but their player is too much for my bandwidth or my computer and I get a slow buffering and low frame rate video. If they put a resolution option like YouTube I'd go back.

I watch Fringe, I think it's one of the best things to come out in YEARS. Don't worry about the ratings Fringe already all but has the 4th season already tied up with Fox. They've loved the ratings it's gotten on Friday night so it won't be cancelled.

They care more about advertising than broadcasting the actual movie. Most of us have been blinded and are supporting these cheap television networks.
I will never watch movies on stations that have adverts, because it's these stations that bring an end to the movies that they broadcast. Only a fool will support such aberations.
Pirates have become the only escape from such annoyances.

You do know the network needs to sell commercial space to have a decent source of income, right? They get some money from cable and satellite providers but they also have to dish out money to get a show to play. The cost of making shows is higher than it was early in TV history because people expect higher quality so stations need to pay more to get a show. The money from TV providers probably isn't enough to run the station at all. Not to mention that commercials aren't new at all, having been used since radio was first used for entertainment.

I know that they are just before commercials and that they spell stuff relevant to the episode, but I don't think I've seen them much in the show itself.

Those symbols are letters. All the letter from an episode make a word, relevant to that episode. Look.

Thanks for the info, Acidpunk, I hope you are right. For the moment, it's my favorite show. Walter Bishop is by far the most interesting character I've seen in a show, and John Noble's acting is impressive. GO FRINGE !
