That's sick, but I'd just like to say...we're really good at noticing the problems of the government in power and ignoring the problems of the people we want to replace them.

At the same time, although I think what Rhaz says is true, we humans are guilty of the converse as well. We would rather stick with the evil that we know than the evil that we don't. I think that this leads us humans to stick with bad policies and incompetent rulers out of fear that we will create even worse ones if we should dare get rid of them (bad policies and rulers). The best way to deal with this, as everyone knows, is to make an informed decision.

I'm starting a count here... 1 post so far that ewm has refused to touch on. Keep in mind, this is the beginning.
I'd repost it, but ewm can click a mouse. He can turn the page, and he can give simply decency and respect and reply.
ewm, are you saying that the protection of Iraqi civilians from paramilitary and terrorist forces is a lie?
If you want, I can talk to some soldiers who have fought in Iraq, and ask them what they fight for: some lurking shadow of WMDs, or the safety of innocent men, women, and children in the face of their very own people who are out to kill them.
ewm, can you hazard a guess as to how they will answer? Will you anwser ME in this reply, after insulting my home?
Will I have to bump the counter of replies ignored up to 2?

I don't think is cosed it I think is makes a environment that makes crime easy.
- Lubbock County
- San Antonio
----
Heres what I got from doing a quick check. What do you think you whould have after GWB left...
- Such as gun laws. Lets you carry weapons in bigs city's like Huston.
- A recently passed anticrime law requires criminals to give their victims 24 hours notice, either orally or in writing, and to explain the nature of the crime to be committed.
- It is unlawful for a person to consume an alcoholic beverage while operating a motor vehicle upon a public roadway, if the person is observed doing so by a peace officer.
- The entire Encyclopedia Britannica is banned in Texas because it contains a formula for making beer at home.
- You can be legally married by publically introducing a person as your husband or wife 3 times
- A city ordinance states that a person cannot go barefoot without first obtaining a special five-dollar permit.
- Lubbock County
- It is illegal to drive within an arm's length of alcohol - including alcohol in someone else's blood stream.
- San Antonio
- It is illegal for both sexes to flirt or respond to flirtation using the eyes and/or hands.
- It is illegal to urinate on the Alamo
----
- Supreme Court's 1989 ruling in Texas vs. Johnson, which struck down Texas' flag desecration law, they said.

Where did you get these? The only one I know is true is that it is indeed illegal to urinate on the Alamo. Several sound like complete bunk, but the Texas legislature is a mess(and the constitution as well, I suppose) due in part to the political climate when they were formed. The Texas legislature may be ineffective, but it only meets every other year and even they don't really have time to deal with things containing the pettiness you describe.
And, I suppose, it doesn't really surprise me in the end. About a year ago a friend of mine went through the state laws of New York, and came out with some even more preposterous things than what you present.
I would still like to know where you got these.

Meaning what?
Sex with socks is... well, simply put: it must not happen!

Or do they really mean "sexual intercourse" with socks? Besides both meanings are frakking weird I see nothing wrong in that!

It never ceases to amuse me how these little, dumb things manage to sneak into bills. I suppose one could have a great deal of fun with it as a lawmaker.
However, the ones without references are dubious at best, and there are several that I have difficulty believing.

I don't know about these... but sometimes life IS stranger than fiction so.....
...sometimes though the sites lie to you and in actuality the laws may be null and void. I believe in Illinois it was at one time illegal to speak english... but because of a change in leadership those laws no longer apply. Could this be the case as well (some sort of mix up or intentional misleading information?)?

Well in some case the laws contradict them self. Its weird.
Not a law: but some times you will find some like:
Do not cross the street until you wont to but not befor.
