well.. who knows what happens on that island.. maybe its really "protected of its enviroment".. maybe a base for tests... maybe all and completly bullsh*t .oO( funny cause of that guano stuff... *movie called ace ventura comes to mind* :lol: )

I think they mined guano for the ammonium nitrate, which is of course the primary ingredient of standard high explosives, back before they invented RDX, HMX, Octol, the plastics, etc.

Absolutely, that's the best place to get ammonium nitrate. We still use it (purified) as fertilizer today, and some psychos (McVeigh and company among others) still use it to blow stuff up.

cool is right, perticular guano has high concentrations of ammonium and nitrates, and can be mined very well out of it strangely
