Armada Fleet Command vs. Fleetops Forum

Want to say something off topic? Something that has nothing to do with Trek? Post it here.

Huh ... just realized today that there is a forum on Armada Fleet Command with many subgroups for mods an such.  I am SO glad that Fleetops has it's own website complete with forums.

I really got that feeling when I noticed that Major A. Payne seems to be the head moderator of Armada Fleet Command.  Now WAAAAY back in the day when I was modding Armada 1 and helped with several projects (including the Millenium Project) I remember M.A.Payne and as I recall he was a pretty nice guy.  Always seemed pretty balanced to me, but man oh man was that forum full of trolls :D.

The MP forum was always pretty on business but the other forums that surrounded it were just full of nasties :D.  Something about 1999-2003 that just made people edgy :D.

Anyway, I have happily made a donation to Fleetops in the hopes that they may keep this nice little site up for us to be children and play in.  :)  Thanks so much!

I"ve been thinking about going green myself. ( :D) I am curious as to how much you "bought" your "Green Card" for. :shifty:

i think u get the donator style no matter how much you give  :shifty:

you shoud definitely go green, they put so much hard work in, give whatever u can

they could sell fleet ops to activision, it would make a good star trek armada III. or they could sell it as an addon to a2.

i love the fact that fleet ops is free, but they are living in a capitalist society and i would not think any less of them for making money out of their excellent work. :sweatdrop:

Definitely.  I was just wondering what is the norm.  $10? $20? $50? $100? More, less, I really have no clue. I'm just curious Is all.  I wish there was more than one way to donate to FO other than just money, such as time, labor(coding stuff that is not generally fun, but is still necessary) or something else.

I just feel that we/I(I can speak for myself anyways) should do more than thank the devs with words. :sweatdrop:

giving ideas on the forum gives them something, finding bugs and telling them, it removes the need for them to pay for testers. also they can use the ideas to develop the game

the idea of more collaboration on developing would be a logistical nightmare unless you were geographically near them i think. time zone differences would be difficult.

also money is a very good thing to give them, they use it buy buy the stuff they use to develop fo like pot noodles

i gave £10, which is about $12-$15 in ur USA currency.
