I have it as well as my brother, UnknownSaiyan.  He's really into it...I'm not so much.

Is Anno 1404 (eventually with addon) a worthy acquisition compared to 1701 which I play seldomly but with great joy.

I played the first one (1602) and even though i liked it i rarely ever won of course i was only like 10 at the time

Oh my god 1602 was so amazing. Sometimes i even start a 1602 just because of it's awesome atmosphere.

So 1404 actually has a working multiplayer? 1602 was great (and worked) and 1503 promised a muliplayer that never came ... nice to hear. Does it run smoothly in multiplayer?

Yes .. after 7 hours of gameplay it crashed .. my pc is not the top end high tech stuff.. yet you can save and load the game !
