FO Avatar Updates, User Profiles

Hey, I was wonderin, with the Profile section where you can choose a ship as your Avatar. Can you have an FO3 section for all the ships in Fleet Ops 3?

Or does that happen when we go into Fleet Ops 4?

Anyway, I'd think it'd be nice to have some up-to-date images of everyone's favorite ships.

Just a little thingy for here and there...

Hey Doca, have you guys thought about having a gallery where you can view each ship in 3-d and what stats it has at all levels?

Kinda like a Demo Room? I remember in Tie Fighter you could go into a 3-d model room and see all the ships and what their capabilities are.


Just kinda thought that would be neat...

something similar is planned, although we are yet unsure about the 3D stuff

Perhaps integrate a FO version of the storm 3d viewer into FO but that would problably be too much work and would also infringe legally upon some rights.....but its a cool feature Id like to see waaaayyyyyyy down the road.

it's actually not that much work, we already do have an internal version. but it's not release ready yet, but still...off topic

Would storm3d actually handle those SODs? Last time I tried loading an SOD from fltops it came up as a screwed blob...

Okay...... back ON topic... Are you going to replace the Avatar pics or just add another section? Because some people like 'em old ships.

And I was also wondering if there'd be a pic submitting contest to see if any could by chance make an avatar?

yes, i'd thought to let have both available, the pre v3 ones and the v3.x.x ones
