Not sure if it's just me, but whenever the Virgin broadband flash banner is shown, it seems to lag out my browser, making it very hard to navigate the forum. Anyone else get this?

There are randomly displayed ads directly above the Header (where it says Hello "Insert Username Here") which usually advertises free web based games... personally I have not seen a Virgin Broadband ad yet.

I go out with a limb here and say that the ads are handled via google magic (For example: I get german ads most of the time)

I had to activate the IE engine integrated in Firefox to see wich ads you are talking about  :innocent:.

It is posible, that the browser could lag if the ad is realy big an have to be loaded. The slower the connection the longer the loadingtime.
Animated flash, flashvids and flash with sound are big.

If your browser lags the hole time the flash is shown it is a very complex flash. Some flashpictures need huge ammount of cpupower to run. Just check some flashgames. Some of them need a hole core of my q6600... . And sometimes even this is not enough power. :borg:

Which browser you are using.
I mostly suggest Firefox with Adblock Plus, CS Lite and NoScript. No flashcommercials so far.

we can not influence the ads shown (much). if they cause problems for you, there are various ways to suppress them. however the ads are there for a reason: to deliver you attractive offers by our sponsors. it's never wrong to take a closer look at them...  :woot: ;)

Yes, I don't block ads for that reason - they usually go to supporting the site. I used another browser, and its not so bad now.

Ads just generate money if you click them.
If you just watch them you also could block them.
