Summer is usually a slower season for alot of people. People out swimming, vacationing, hanging out. When it gets colder people have to stay indoors...hence play videogames. Give it a few months it will pick up.

I did not recognize cause i don´t play online. I don´t play online cause i don´t have the time to get some competative skill in this game and without it everyone will just stomp me and so its no fun to play online.

I love this mod and i hope it don´t die. Can´t wait the borg faction redo.

P.S. i think one point of few players is that it is summer and serveral people don´t play much pc in this time

you shouldnt let that dissuade you from joining us online. once you have the basics of the game (you can get that vs ai) the mp specific skills arent that hard to learn.

just play armada mode with a couple people who arent new, and soon you will be able to compete in team games.

in 1v1 things are very tight and a gap in skill will be very evident, but in a team game if u play mediocre and dont make horrible mistakes then u will not let your team down badly.

the first thing to learn is if you're sitting there looking at your ships doing nothing and wondering whether you should do something with your fleet, the answer is yes!, go blow some miners up. always go for the miners.

second thing most new players miss is you need to scout more, lots more. scouting can turn a situation where you are outmatched into one where you can win.

Hmmm, the tunngle counter hasn't changed any.  Weekdays it floats from between 16-20 on peak hours and then up to 30 on the weekends.

Spectate a few games or watch replays, to see how good players build up their bases, in what order, what they're doing with their fleets.

Get TS3 and a working microphone (IP: 91.82.250.133:9900). Don't be affraid to ask one or two simple questions during a game, or a few before / after. And of course communication in a team game is always the key. Most people i've encoutered are VERY helpful and give you a straight answer, which is mostly a HUGE increase on your skill level - at least for me it had quite an impact.

Finally join a game as a player, tell them that you are a newbie, and 99% of the time they'll adjust the teams for a balanced game.

And last but not least... you're not alone as a newcomer. There are quite a lot. *wink*

I haven't played in a month and don't plan to again. The mod is great, but I'm not willing to put nearly the focus into getting better that most people do.

I don't even have the build/tech tree down yet lol.  Besides, I think once I get the new mod sys down I'll be a much better asset ;-)

I just need to get milkshape working correctly... after work... which is where I'm about to go.  0118 here and I've got to be at work at 0430.  I'm totally... well... you know  :borg:
