Here you can arrange online encounters and reminisce over past online battles.

ok so for the very first time i tried playing fleetops online.
firstly let me just get this out of the way:
*yes i have fleetops V3.13 installed
*yes i have disabled all firewalls, everything.
*yes i have the tunngle client installed
*yes i have created a tunngle account

heres how im trying to get it right. im connecting my nokia x6 to my PC so as to share its EDGE connection with my PC, im on the Virgin Mobile SA network (yea thats right folks, Virgin Mobile here in south africa only has EDGE, sucks doesnt it)

right so im able to login with tunggle and find the fleetops network, n i saw Mort and stardust in it (apparently tunggle said there where 7 ppl in the network but i only saw mort and stardust ). now when i tried typing a chat in the fleetops network screen in tunggle i got no reply from anyone, meaning one of 6 things

1: that mort hates me.
2: that they cant see my message in the fleetops tunngle screen
3: stardust hates me.
4: i cant see their reply
5: both mort and stardust hate me
6: something else funky is going on and tunggle hates me

either way im pretty much hated lolz. Also i noticed that the ping i was getting from mort and stardust was ~550, which im betting is pretty bad, prob meaning im prob never gona be able to play fleetops online until i have better internet connection *sigh*

In the fleetops game when i connect via the little cuteness 'network - tunggle' button i saw a game in progress, i couldnt connect to it coz it was already started.

So can somebody help me out here. maybe send me a PM with your GMAIL address so you can help me via gtalk chat, and a scheduled time when you will be online to help me out. GMT+2 time please. 7 or 6 pm GMT+2 is good for me most of the time. please note GMT+2 = CAT (central african time)

thx in advance

whoa, im surprised your mobile provider even allowed you to use tunngle using edge.

if that game in progress was already started, then i bet mort and stardust were in that game playing, and thats why they ignored ur chat messages. mort and star arent rude so they wouldnt ignore u unless u pissed them off. they may do other evil things, like tie you to a runaway train, but they will talk to u.

regardless of whether its possible to connect to a game with an edge connection, the speeds u get via edge will be so painfully slow that you wouldnt be able to enjoy a game. so i would give up trying to connect to a game via edge. tunngle chat is probably the best you will get without a broadband connection.

EDIT: btw in UK and a lot of other countries virgin mobile only gets the same speeds as you. in a few countries is uses CDMA and gets 3G speeds, but even then i doubt you could run fleetops.

nah that chat was sent after their game was finished. i monitored their game from fleetops. so it must have been something else. (keep in mind the mort and star hate me thing was sacrasm  )

dam it really suck living in a 3rd world country :crybaby: so glad im emigrating, maybe then i can finally play fleet ops online  ^-^

nah SA still 3rd world, regular load shedding (something u may not have heard of, but theres not enough electricity so the power utility rolls blackouts round the country). 24% unemployment rate. crappy internet as u know. SA rated 1st the world for number of rapes per capita and 2nd for murders/assault per capita.

Its the wild west out here

Hi yhall. I've put fleet ops on a friends computer. but Tungle is having an issue. It says Tungle is not a valid Win32 application. He's running Windows 7. I've tried running under Winxp S2 and S3 compatibility modes.

Did you somehow manage to install the 64 bit version of Tunngle on a 32 bit operating system? That's what it would say if that were the case.

Maybe, but the Download in tungle doesn't seem to give an option. Unfortunatly I'm away from my friends' computer at the moment... I take it I can get the 32bit form their site?

every once and a while i will get that error and sometimes is a corrupt download so i would try redownloading it and see if it still does it.

I redownloaded it 5 times, once from a different source. It's really confusing... It works on my and most other computers just fine.
