RULES:
Every game is a one-on-one match.
Use whatever tactic is necessary to win!
If a player attempts to exploit the above rule by quitting the instant the game starts because of a rule stated below about the relative power of armadas, that player will be disqualified from the tournament and the other player will automatically advance.
A match ends when a player either looses all of their units, or when a player gives up and quits the game. If a player quits the game before either player is eliminated, the winner will be determined by who has the most powerful armada, not by who the game says has won the match. A screenshot of the armada powers will be required in this instance. All players involved must submit this screenshot.
There must be one observer to confirm that a match took place. Two observers are preferred with one of them being there to record a video of the replay, but if there was not at least one observer present for the game, the game is invalid.
Both players in the match as well as all observers in the match must submit a copy of the admirals log or the game is invalid.
PRE-ELIMINATION ROUNDS:
There will be an even number of players to start off the tournament. Each player has to play a one-on-one match with every player in the tournament.
Regardless of whether a player wins or looses a match, that player can still play in the tournament until he/she has played against every player in the tournament.
The top fourth to top third of the players at the end of the pre-elimination rounds will make it to the elimination rounds. The players starting in the elimination rounds will be a power of two.
The pre-elimination round is over once it has been confirmed that every player has played every other player.
ELIMINATION ROUNDS:
The elimination rounds will be split up into teams. Both teams will be split to have an even number of players on each team with both teams getting the same number of wins.
Players at the same level of each team will do a one-on-one match for the first round in the elimination rounds. At the end, the teams will be divided again as described above to re-balance the teams if needed.
The above process will continue until there are two players left in the tournament. These two players will play against each other to decide the winner of the tournament.

With respect, a lot of these rules seem rather arbitrary.
All units must be destroyed or the leaver is disqualified? Are you joking me? A cloaker could hide units after losing everything and Borg/Klingon will NEVER find them. NEVER. It's setting up a lot of frustration and pissed off people.
I didn't really want to post here, but this is like the 3rd tournament you've "started" with some bizarre rules. I don't mean to be rude, but people won't play with rules that appear "arbitrarily L337"

I see your point. The rules have been modified.

Also might i add, why is there no race vs race? if anything that would be the most balanced matchup possible, it makes no sense to not allow this
in fact you could do a whole tournament of just one race vs one race.........

look at that video a good race v race game

No race Vs race presumably because TCR doesn't like it, despite the lack of sense that dislike makes. Klingon civil war and Renegade Jem'Hadar, anyone?

I have modified the rules slightly for the tournament.

TCR, your rule change regarding the game ending with all units destroyed doesn't really help the races that have trouble detecting cloaked units. The change only means that if they quit first they'll lose. They still won't win if their opponent hides a cloaked ships somewhere.

That's rule number 2 you must be talking about. The one that says to use whatever tactic is necessary to win. I think I may modify the rule to prevent players from exploiting that rule. I'm trying to make it as fair as possible. I'm used to trying to making rules for racing, not combat.
