Season Format/Rules
The season will be composed of 12 matches. The player with the most points at the end of the tournament is the champion.
Each match will be an alliance game with allied victory turned off.
Each match is required to have exactly one player plus one observer to save the admirals log.
Each match will have 4 player slots reserved, 1 observer slot reserved for the admirals log, and 1 commentator slot reserved for a replay. The remaining 2 slots can be used for observers or commentators.
Once all 4 player slots and the observer slot has been filled, the game should start. Leave the team numbers alone.
Only one match can be held at a time. If you couldn't make the first match, you can try to make the second match.
There can be more than 4 people competing for the championship. Only the first 4 players to take up one of the player slots will actually be able to play in that match. If you don't make it, try again on the next match.
The points are configured to award consistency. Theoretically, it is possible to win the championship without winning a single game, but it is very difficult. And, you are not given any point if you do not play in the match.
If a player surrenders, that player must announce their surrender and then leave the match.
Do not use the Hyperspace Artillery vessel.
Point System
First Out receives 2 points.
Second Out receives 3 points.
Third Out receives 4 points.
The winner receives 5 points.
There is a 1-point penalty for surrendering or leaving early.
If a player is disqualified from a match, that player will receive 0 points.

Sorry if it looks more like the rules of a simulator race than a Fleet Ops tournament.

Why don't use the HSA? IMO one should either ban nothing or everything that is debated(Shield recharge
). But I'd prefer to prohibit nothing, worked in the last tourney, too.
I must say that ally system appears much too complicated for me. I'd rather have a proper team tourney than that FFA style. Alliance games are not very popular, I don't see the use of it in a tourney.
Nevertheless, it would be nice if you could prove me wrong and get this tourney started

The HSA will wipe out an entire fleet in one shot. It's way overpowered for the little amount of resources it costs.
Alliance games are unique. You can team up with whoever you want whenever you want. And even choose to be neutral during the course of the game. Also, if you want to team up with someone during a specific battle, you can temporarily set your alliance with the player to neutral or ally. Where as a "Team" game free for all doesn't allow you to make these alliances.
