By now the standart map was Duel 2 for 2 player battles, i read that some persons got sick about this map, wich version should we use:

Standardmap: Duel 2, if both players agree, blue skies can be chosen
Standardmap: blue skies, if both players agree, Duel 2 can be chosen

I personally think the change to the other map Blue skies by default could be very cool, post your opinions if blue skies should be used for standard or only as second choice on this tounament

Blue skies would be my choice, however duel 2 and early bird would also be okay imho.

I guess as long as both players agree on one of those maps everything should be fine.

does early bird still have the split moons, if so i can already hear people complaining about the resource setup providing advantages to some races and not others. feds for example can afford to defend a lone dil moon.

Early bird is currently not an option, not enough matches had been played or replays made

The question is if Blue skies could be chosen as standard map, question of balance and enough times being played, take Blue skies as standardmap for this tounament would be a big step for this map

Early bird's been around for ages, and both versions of early bird each have more replays than blue skies :) it certainly doesn't fail the age test.

Having made both the maps in question  ^-^ I would like to throw my 2 cents in and say that Early Bird has not been balanced for all races.  Duel 2 was balanced painstakingly by Dominus and myself to be as balanced as a map can be for 3.2.6.  It's not perfectly balanced, but it's about as close as we felt we could get.

Early Bird was made and adjusted before that and was really made for just fun :).  I don't think the map could be considered balanced enough for a tournament.

I do really think that Blue Skies is a very nice map - though I haven't seen many matches on it.  It generally (in my opinion) takes some time for a map to be scrutinized on the little things in 1v1 matchups, but I wholeheartedly encourage people to find a new map besides Duel 2 for tournaments :).

After this statement the standardmap of this tournament will be Duel 2, with the option for blue skies, because of their balance reasons, to find a map that is balanced like Duel 2 could be nice perhaps someone tries to create one, for this tournament their will be Duel 2 with the option for blue skies if both players agree

Blue Skies is a really great map. It's quite balanced and the slightly larger size than Duel 2 open up a lot of possibilities for late game situations.

I'm not planning to join the tournament, but let me give you a friendly advice (as one of the few I know you like to play dominion  ): if you are planning to play a non-cloaking race, veto Blue skies. I played a lot on that before, and both the distance between the main base's and the layout of the expo's make it horribly biased towards cloaking races. Duel II is the closest to be a good tournament map in my opinion. (even if it's pretty boring for most of us)
