Semi roleplay MP match: Look inside for details.

Well as those thatve read my posts will have noticed, I usually play SP because I prefer a slower match.

Well I had an idea that could be fun for a MP match, we roleplay it.


In essence, we each play the role of the race/avatar we play as, and pick and choose how we do alliances among the races, etc etc, and we start the match by just building up our territory with bases, sensors, etc etc.

We'd pick a map to match the number of players, or if someone with the prerequisite skills wants to help, use a custom map.

So yes we fight, but we do it in a more RPd sense.

Anyone interested ?

I'm very interested in this.  Although there are limitations on how the roll-playing maps will work.  I would like some online mission maps to be made available to take full advantage of this type of game-play style.  Perhaps an "mp_mission" map type that's similar to "mission" but is playable online.

Well once megadroids scripting is done it'll be VERY possible.
RPG (CO-OP compatable prehaps) map
Its mostly be posting ideas, but megadroid DID reply that he is also thinking of doing something like it.

If you want a campaign, try THIS mod http://www.moddb.com/mods/klingon-academy-ii-the-general-war as it has a working campaign, it's based on the old game Klingon Academy, with elements of the Starfleet Command series thrown in.

Actually thats the only working campaign I know of in any mod, admitedly its a case of the ships filenames being replaced with TMP era ships, and the missions objectives renamed to match, and the audio replaced with audio reflecting the new mission, but it IS a working campaign.
