Problem with Hosting

Here you can arrange online encounters and reminisce over past online battles.

Hosting a private game to play with a friend doesn't work with the "Internet - Manual IP" option.  I host the game in a DMZ, and he cannot see my game once I gave him the IP.  We're both in our respective DMZ and have completely disabled Windows Lamewall (oops, Firewall).  He is even able to do a trace route right to me, but absolutely no game shows up in the game list once he's dropped to the lobby after entering my IP address.  Neither of us can connect to the other's game.  We are both using the same game with the same patch.  There are no other mods installed for either person.  What else needs to be done?

I also note that Counter Strike: Source works perfectly when I host the game.  However, this game does not.

yes, manual ip connections do NOT work with 3.0.5 currently. this has been fixed with 3.0.6. i recommend to either use gamespy or hamachi until the patch is released

I am unable to create a new gamespy account.  I always get a "password incorrect" error box whenever I try to create a new one.  My friend encountered the same problem.  Is there a link to do it from the gamespy website?

in the gamepsy section, enter a unique ID, enter a password and then enter your email address.
then click create new account.

it should work.

Well, I'm still unable to make a new profile since it always says "incorrect password."

There is just no way to create a new profile.  It always says "Incorrect Password".  I even tried an account with completely random letters and numbers.  In addition, my friend and I attempted to make a LAN game.  It also failed to show the game in the lobby.  Is this method also not working?  It's difficult to play a multiplayer MOD with other people.

What we are saying is that it isn't necessary to create a new profile. Where it asks you to log in, all that is required is you type your desired screen name into the ID and press login. No account is required. Unless I'm misunderstanding you and that's what you have been doing all along, in which case i apologise.
