Never have I ever dreamed that I would have to create this thread. Fleetops is a diverse, caring community of which I have grown great respect for. Almost all of its players have shown proper etiquette when it comes to abusing bugs. After all it's just a game, and never should you ever take it personally. Just because someone wins or you don't like them because they are different from you does not mean you should gang upon them, or exclude them from a game. If you have made arrangements with somebody don't all of the sudden exclude them from a game because of odd numbers.
"Etiquette is probably one of the more important aspects of the game. Always respect your opponent."
-Dominus_Noctis
Don't refuse to be with, or to cooperate with somebody because of these differences. It's no fun to be left out or put down, so treat others the way you wish to be treated. Is that too much to ask for people?
Star Trek stands for integrity, acceptance, kindness, and a better future. How can we accomplish if we treat others with cruelty?

I vote for mercilessness, I'd rather have an opponent that fights than an opponent that spends all his time mining and never builds one fleet.

I dont want to sat any names, but people over react, and get angy for over silly things like me attacking them in an ffa when they were building up forces when they had no combat yet.

Are you serious!? This isnt a combat game! This is a secretly build up a fleet then kill everybody game!

Well when it comes down to it. I admittedly do a lot of mining and produce relatively small fleets, just the way I play. But I can guarantee that I will do just as much damage to my opponent (respecting the etiquette suggested) as they can do to me with there overpowered fleets.
After all, its about how you use the fleet not how many ships are in it....

if you have good turrets, as klingons, or fed mayson, you can afford to mine all day long, as long as you keep your peremeter in check.

Agreed, but that doesn't always work, i adopted a tactic like that for while when i played as feds, 8 out of 10 times it would work and because my opponents fleets were being destroyed by my turrets, he had trouble fighting me off when i sent in my huge built up fleet but other times it wont work because he found a way to attack the turrets from a long way off or he just didn't attack and i screwed up somewhere along the line.

yeah, thats why I like mayson turrets. the only way to get past them is, either with more firepower, or cloak. you cannot out distance cartilage
I found the best thing to do is to cluster them in like groups of 4 in different places away from your base. then have a back up force of 6-10 small destroyers like sabers, bug ships, brels and such. doesn't work later in game, but in the begining, while you are amassing resources it works great.

Yes and if my fleet attacks you because of a weakness its not my fault it's yours. And just because I attack you and destroy 4 Negh Vars, and then retreat does not mean you should tripple team against me (2 Tac cubes, 1 Dymond, 15 Neigh Vars, 20 Sangs and Susas, 5 assimilators, 3 Pyramids, and 30 K'Vorts) ruin the game, and have you and your friends block the person saying you never want to play with them again!

Keep in mind one more thing, everybody:
This is a game where the end is either a win or a loss. ESPECIALLY in Free For All's I've noticed that people get SUPER touchy when it comes to being attacked.
Funny I don't mean to cause a problem but I find it odd that you would post this seeing as you very often get very upset yourself in a FFA if even a scout from each player heads your way. You immediately assume you're being attacked by two.
I think in Free For All's people do one thing that is a mistake: they keep their fleets in one giant victory armada instead of covering their bases. In FFA's i just use destroyers to eat miners until I'm pretty sure I know how big and where their fleet is. Then I avoid it or attack the other opponent. People just have this habit of keep ALL their ships together in one place and having it run willy nilly back and forth to put out fires. You should keep smaller battle groups at different mining stations and keep fast destroyers in reserve to rush over and help when needed.
