Here you can arrange online encounters and reminisce over past online battles.

I'm new here and would like to get into playing some Armada 2 multiplayer with others. I've played several multiplayer games (from other games), but I am not familiar with the Fleet Operations multiplayer...
Which game version do you all use(As in which of the patches do I have to install?)
Also, do people here play multiplayer frequently? Do you organise times/teams ?
Thanks for any help.

hello and welcome.
if you are looking to play armada 2 stock online you will find there are rarely players available for games, but those that are available will probably post here to say hi. most people play online via tunngle, you can find more about that in the guide here:
Getting Online - The Hitchhiker's Guide to Fleet Operations
(this guide is for playing fleetops via tunngle, in a2 you run tunngle, go the a2 lobby and push lan)
many more people play fleetops online (its really good, you should try it
). which is also played via tunngle (as described in the guide i linked to).
to play armada 2: install the game, install the official 1.1 patch (the only official patch ever made) then install the patch project, both available here:
Star Trek Armada II: Fleet Operations - Star Trek Armada II: Patch Project
the unofficial patch project doesnt affect compatibility, so people with only 1.1 can still play with you.
to play fleetops: install 3.2.3, then install 3.2.5, both available here:
Star Trek Armada II: Fleet Operations - Fleet Operations 3.0
hope you enjoy your time here.

hi and welcome
there is currently a few members who play, and as soon as stock A2 gets added to fleet ops there will be more playes, im trying hard to get hold of many of the old players to let them know A2 lives on.

Thanks, all of you.
I downloaded it all and installed it.
I've been playing and it's actually quite hard.
1 vs 1 with an AI opponent on hard, i just can't keep up!

The hard AI actually cheats its ass off.
It is better to learn the basic technology tree and units against a normal AI.
After that, you go on tunngle and play with real players. Most will teach you how to play and what to do in certain situations.
