I see there are a few dozens of ppl who would want to play FO in multiplayer, both coop and pvp modes, but we just seem to miss each other.
Usually, we just sign in with the game in the gamespy room, and see that there's noone around or that there's a game already going and who knows when it ends...

But what if we could see the actual status without running the game?
I'm not familiar with gamespy, but isn't it possible to create an embedded window somewhere on this site, which shows the number of players and/or some other stats of the main Armada2 gamespy lobby?

... or if it isn't posible, then what about having an other section on the site where we can sign up our accounts for multiplayer gaming, giving our intentions and some IM adress, ability to host, system specs, etc.
There are many topics going on about multiplayer sign up and "game right now" and so on, but they're just too confusing and lost by each other. It would be better to have one, unified interface to do it, maybe later you could even hire a tournament organizer guy?... With this system it wouldn't be hard to hold regular matches.
Furthermore, we can save the report of a game when it's finished. If it's not too hard and time costy, you could expand this system with a battle report uploader which automatically collets a few stats of the reports, so you could see how much wins and losses a player has, and what is his favourite race, etc.

However, i do not want you guys to pay too much attention and time for this, if it would require a lot of effort, well then i can live without it as the development of the mod itself is a lot more important!

As the FleetOps lobby is the old Star Trek Armada 2 Demo lobby it should be accessable via GameSpy Arcade.

Thx but i never used a gamespy client myself and there are a lot more people like me, i think...
I just tought of some workaround, but it's not that very important, was just a simple idea...

and the idea itself is great ^^
i remember, a rpg-server of neverwinter nights had a plugin on its website, to show how many ppl are actually on the server. and the neverwinter nights server were based on a gamespy system too. i just dont know if or if its not possible to implement it without a resident server running. i just installed the gamespy arcade client and its using a model like this, so, that you can see the ppl in the lobby and how many games are running at the moment, without starting the game. the problem of the gamespy arcade system is just that it doesnt make a difference of a modded or stock armada2 game.
so, i get a feeling, that its hard if not impossible to do, sadly.
