Best fleet ops game ever

i posted this on another post, but its best if i move it hear, it really was an awsome game

we played probably the single most greatest game ever in the history of fleet ops ( i was going to do a big post on it) agaisnt cbosdell and dominus, they were kligon, we were fed and dominion, took place on lines of war i belive, and let me tell you in the first 5-10 minutes we were fricken slaughterd, hoplessly destroyed, we got our heads blown off, we fell apart, completely dead, and me and mal were about to quit, when i said, ah what the hell, lets just see if we can drag this out

our forces spread thin, fleets streched apart we thought we were completely dead, and truly we were, i was operating my forces off of two moons, and mal off of 2 pairs, we had lost our mining early on, and struggled to keep our bases intact, mal actualyl was off and on with ones of his pairs of moons under constant attack, thankfully he pumped resoruces into me, i never got sensors, but that cloak kiiled us

we tried to make some head way, but were were surrounded, a large fleet of luspets would attack us, and then kvorts elsewhere, he took out all my norways in a hit or two, and mal couldnt move his dreads or hyperspace quickly, cus there slow, and his bugs fell to feild of fire, to us it seemed like we were surrounded, and theres one thing that the teams formula cant count, thats fear, we were afraid we were dead, they were all around us, we felt like nothing was safe, frequent cloak attacks kept on taking our any norwyas i had, and my tritanium miners i was operating off of 3 contruction ships and one mining station, we didnt know were they were, and mals mining kept on dieing

so finnaly i said to mal, lets go in a bit, see if we cant get some breathing room, so i took my miranda 2s and remaining norway(plasma coil) and canaverl (sensor blackout) and he took his fleet and we attacked , mal was able to make some headway, but unfortunatly, they had him outnumbered, and had lots of turrets on the bottom, mal had to also turn back as another cloak attack came in on his mining, i howver was able to push in a bit farther then mal, i was sucesfully able to pentrate there defenses, and send there fleet retreating after a small engagment, in which i lost 2 ships and they lost alot more, i was able to push as far as spotting one of there mining before i was met with the fleet that had just retreated, and reinforcmets, i decided not to push in, by fear of being slaughtered, so i took my miranda 2s back, fortunetly, there high defense, alowed them to escape with no losses, unfortunatly norways defense sucks and all my norways and canaverals died

me and mal were feeling a bit better that we had made some headyway, but still fully expected to get killed, now rember guys, my miranda 2s only ever numbered in the 5-9 range, anyway, so i get back ready to defend repair my miranda 2s, when all of a sudden cloak attack, my small shipyard is gone, so much for rebuilding norways, myself very mad, chasses out kligons taking out a few ships, but then, my rebuildt mining is killed, now im mining 1 moon with 2 miners, luckily ive had the help or warp in, that hasnt helped so much actually,

so then i decided, damn him i gotta take it to him, so i charge into his base, with miranda 2s, and with some supprot from mal, take out a good part of his fleet, and one of his mining, now me and mal are telling each other, jeez, we jsut took out his mining, we migth have a chance (note until now they had full mining and we each only had one pair) then i come back, and i get a few miranda 2s out when mal is attacked, we beat off the attack and startred to rebuild our old mining, we probably got 1k each of di and tri, before they got blown up, then tradgedy stuck me, with 8 mirandas left, and 3 fresh warp in, i was a little bit away from base, when my mining was destroyed, it was at this time, i made a very bold decision, and at this point we had thought we were dead

plagued by feild of fire, countless luspets neraghs kvorts, and cloak attacks, we barly had any mining all game, thanks to my miranda 2s and mals dreadnaughts freezing and hyperspace tho, we were able at that point to take out 3/4 of an attacking fleet, this was when i made a bold game changing decision, and i said to mal, 15 minutes ago i was gonna quit, but now honestly my base is dead so i decomed my miranda 2 yard, my base was already in shambles i figured we might have a shot, we had penetrated to there mining before, and anything i rebuilt would be killed, so my mining station with no miners also got decomed, i left my warp in and station to protect it gave remaining resources to mal, and i said a game changing sentence

mal, im attacking do you want to come? he said no, then he said yes, it was this point that was game changing, had mal said no.............. it woulda have been very different, mal later told me he thought, what the heck ray will die if he goes in alone, so we went, and we ended up taking out to mining and a small fleet of his, all i can say is the streght of 8 expirienced miranda 2 is very nice, as well as the stretng of mals hyperspace, dreadnahts and whatever else there was, it was at this time when all my warp ins had been destroyed i noticed, that my warp in facility was dead, and my starbase fell soon there after, there i was deep in enemy terrioty, with a undefetable enemy, that had surrounded us bashed us, and killed us before the game began, and i had no base, and soon, mal wouldnt either, howver he took his mining/ contruct, and move them a little out of base, so they wouldnt be discoverd by the attacking luspets

we were right outside of dominus (i think it was his) base we decided we came this far, we will die gloriously in battle, after all we had thot we had a small chance after taking out his mining, but we both knew sadly, we would be dieing very soon, so the battle began, a small fleet of ships came, be we killed them, mal and i still in survival, and hit the vitalist part of the base mode before we die because we have no chance mode, took out mining starbase, and then proceded to wipe out rest of base, so now dominus and cbos had one base with mining, and then another mining base,

mal and i were like, omg, we might have a chance, but also congratulated each other on taking out one base, and a game of stuggle to stay alive, basically, we congratulated each other for staying alive for so long, and we figured the dominus had everythign in cbosdells base, so we attacked, ships, then mining, then starbase, and there base was gone? what had we done, i still had the 8 miranda 2s i had started with, 3 double gold by now, and he had only lost 2 ships, we then slaugtered what we thought was his last mining, then the begining of the end began,

knowing what had happend earlier, we had celebrated but quickly turend to frightend yelling, i told mal to use the hyperspace as soon as they declok and keep your ships ready, as we moved to where we had last seen the enemy ships as they destroyed mals base, we confronted and destyoyed the station they had built and luspets, we tracked down a enemy contuct ship very afraid (with a kligons scout i had captured, very useful for spying), we knew of course they had a bigger fleet, and were rebuilding there base, those luspets were just a distraction,

so mal hurridly rushed into building mining, my mirandas intent on chasing down that contruct, and then gurading mals base with the help of mals fleet, we were very happy to of inflicted so much damage, my mirandas started to wipe out there constuct, that was probably going to build another mining base)however both of us knew, this was finaly over, a fleet was on the way from there reconstucted base to wipe us out, then finnaly, words flashed on the screen, words that finnaly came, an explosion occured at one point, and another point, and it started to be wiped out completely, finnaly about to die, finnaly about to be over, and the word on the screen, said victory

me and mal suppresed by the kligons came back, and were able to defeat dominus, and cbos, with limited support shis, and me spending only 30k dilithium and around 30k tri, and mal spendin arund 50 of each, cbos and dominus had spent over 70 and 80k respectivly, but our fleet, and tactics apparently were more powerful, we went from optomistic, to baffled that we had lost so much, to quiting, to hope, to a final stand and to victory

the admirals log was astounding, they had so many more ships yet we won

ive really got to say, if you had been watching you woulda said the same thing, the greatest match ever, with soem of the greaterst ive ever seen, yet me and mal overcame, and when the dust had setteld we had won,

i have to say, mal shall always be my first choice to be on a team,

my only wish is that i coulda seen a video of that match, to see what exactly happend on there side


it was awsome

oh and black baron, seeing as you had questions about the resources here they are and i deleted the battles, ships, and somthing else cus it was just a very long list, i can post the whole thing as a dowload tho if you want to see the timeline here it is:

i guess what really makes me laugh, is how little resources i got, but how much i spent in proportion to everyone else, tet my military was the strongest? idk how thats caluculated, but this was just awsome, i was left with 8 miranda 2s ranked of course which helped

but me and mal combined only spent 5000 dilithium more then dominus, it was just incredible

and amazing game, dominus and cbos definently fought hard and well

Veronw, me and mort vs mal, red and dom.

Veron and mort rhienned dom together, as soon as they did my cloaked scouts saw mal moving to support Dom. Red was focusing on mining, and I Bop rushed him. mal went to support dom.
Red quit, followed by dom and then mal. (more out of anger than anything I guess -  didnt like getting hit before a fleet was up )

game time = 10 minutes.  building stations takes a while

i kow this isnt the right place but.

gave remaining resources to mal

. what did you mean by that? did you trade it like ships, because this isnt working for me

the give resources option is under advanced settings.
By default it is set to disable - hence u may not be able to trade or give resources to your allies in game.

But to do so, click on the advanced button in the game setup where u choose your map, colour etc, and select the give units/resources function. this will e situated to the right of your screen.

Then in game, click on the chat options button (where you activate allied chat), ull see the names of your teammates and the resources that u are going to give them to the right thereof.
You'll also see a line connecting dilithium to your name or a name of one of your allies.

the line will join the resource to the named player, meaning that you are going to give the resource to that player. the amount that you are going to give is indicated in the numbers to the right... you can use the +- buttons to adjust how much u can give.
To change the player to whom you are giving the resource, simply click on a new name. you will see the line change. To change the resource click on the resource name - dilithium, trilithum etc... and you'll get it.

@ Serpicus: I really hope that you didn't think that was your best game, because that would be downright sad in my opinion. That game lasted all of 5 minutes, and although I really should speak only for myself, Mal and I both did a very stupid thing: we built mixed tech immediately. Given that it was obviously a 4 v 3, that alone was a killer. That said, there were no battles other than with early Rhienns (5 ships), warp ins (3 ships), and BoPs (didn't see). Hardly a game at all mate.

@ Ray: I don't want to spoil your fun exactly, but don't you think you've had enough of tooting your own horn? The only reason Cbosdell and I lasted as long as we did was because I forced him to press the advantage. We both suck at playing Klingon (Cbosdell tells me that that was honestly the first time he enjoyed playing with them), and I think that was my 4th time playing that avatar, with no real build order or idea what ships were good. Getting my base hyperspaced from inside yours by Mal on that teeny map also was incredibly evil  . Once you both had mixed tech, the battle was going to be over. It still was a good game though, and I did enjoy it quite a bit. Next time things will be different though... next time   


EDIT: only I went for mixed tech that early, so my stupid fault

actually im not in college, though i wouldnt midn going back in time a couple of eyars and being there... well university over here...
