Okay so basically, i am calling on the resources of you, the populace of the forums to help me with a problem that will help me get good quality video replays up on you tube for you to watch

What i need is a compressing program that will take an avi video file, and spit out something good enough
for you tube full screen, so like at least 780p

Windows movie maker is not an option as i am running the 2.1 version of movie maker for xp, so i cant upgrade, and the 2.1 movie maker version does not give me an hd option, (unless it has been modded by somone? idk)

Anyway, i need this program to be free, and i need to to actually work, so if anyone knows of such a program please let me know

Try VirtualDub, it's what I (and lots of other people) use.

Elim you are fricken awesome thank you, that is very nice, however i still will have to search for a program that is a little better, as my resolutions are not anything standard such as 1280*1024 which is what i am currently running, so anything different will not be as good as it could be.  So if anyone knows of any program where i can do that let me know, in the meantime, elims idea will do just fine.

However now i have a new problem i cannot record microphone sound and game sound at the same time, is this a limitation, and does anyone know of a way where i can get around this?

You need to select stereo mix (although Yandon uses microphone, I think) as your sound input device.  Stereo mix is something Windows has that allows you to record every sound your computer makes, which means you can have both microphone sound and game sound.  For more on stereo mix, visit your friendly, neighborhood youtube or wikipedia. :D

in fraps movies tab i select "record win7 sound" and the stereo button

and i also record external input, and select my microphone for that. that does it for me.
