Map: Polluted Ice and Unholy water

Players:
1337_64M3R (Fed: Mayson)
Ducky (Borg: Optimize I believe)
AI Hard (Klingon)
AI Hard (Romulan)

Me and ducky were going 2 on 2 against the AI. At first everything was calm and easy. Now as I was expanding, shortly after the 2nd expansion ducky starts building a cube as his first ship. Anyway it was around that time when the Romulans started taunting us with harrasment. As I got to building a 3rd expansion, I noticed the Romulans already expanded to my side. And then that is when things started going bad. Ducky's fleet was destroyed in defending his base all but the cube. Then both AI came at my base like a pair of hurricanes. :o So I began to panic. I tried fighting them off. Building turrets, and I was upgrading my ships like crazy trying to keep them alive. Eventually I got a vet sovy and a vet Descent. that is when things went a bit easier. But then what was once a storm became even worse with Tavaras, Negh'Vars, Luspets, Norexans, and other larger ships coming in larger groups paired with K'vorts and Leahvals. I continued to fight them off, but my defenses were weakening. I was constantly losing new ships to add to my wall. I started feeling that I was fighting the Avalon. :guns: I yelled to ducky for help, but of course he never answered. Eventually he quit. So I decided I didn't want to face hell anymore.

1337_64M3R:
Good:
- Expanded quickly
- Maintained defense
- Kudos for vetting a Descent (twice)

Bad:
- Did not attack enemy bases (never had an opportunity)
- Spent most of resources defending

Ducky:
Good:
- Got the supply stations quickly
- Got to construction quickly

Bad:
- Built cube first (big nono)
- Did not assist his ally when asked >:(
- Did not maintain construction of vessels to defend himself

As I said, this was a brutal moment.

actually when going against ai you go after their shipyards , because

1. they don't need resources - it's there to tease you!

2. the more shipyards they have the more ships they pump out  :pinch:

3. you have to build up and hit first quickly - their main base - why? because they turtle, and they turtle good.

u feeling better ducky? u said you was feeling sick yesterday.

EDIT: @arash8472, actually they turtle bad, they turtle a lot, but their defenses are placed erratically. still hard, but if a human had the same number of turrets to place it would be even harder. but i agree with you, attacking shipyards works great. sometimes the way the AI builds its base means that you can snipe a shipyard from out of range of any static defenses. thats a free shipyard kill.

Lol @ the idea of a player in the game: "rating" or "summarizing" the other players in the game.  Not very objective if you ask me :D.

indeed not objective, but i like to read them anyway. maybe we could have reviews from all players and see how they compare.

Hahah that;s a good idea, Myles.

Gamer you forgot to make a summary for the AI's ...

Well the idea was adapted from gamereplays.org they do this for their competitive community for all the newer RTSs which all have replay capability. Yes, ideally the review would be made by an observer after the game. :)

Boggz, here is your summery for the AI. :whistling:

AI Hard (Klingon):
Good:
-Built quick, early strike force to over-run 1337_64M3R's expansions.
-Was able to maintain a steady supply of ships even if mining ships were attacked. :D

Bad:
-Sent vessels mindlessly one after another, instead of grouping them.
-Vessel choice appeared to be predictable, as if it was choosing vessels from a scripted list.

AI Hard (Romulan):
Good:
-Fairly quick tech to warbirds to increase power.
-Strong use of multiple Serkas to decimate fleets.

Bad:
-Poor use of cloaking.  Would cloak only one vessel, or would just cloak seemingly at random.
-Vessel choice appeared to be predictable, as if it was choosing vessels from a scripted list.

also building too many turrets in places where they were not useful :P

I don't know.  When the AI builds 15 in one place it tends to be pretty decent.

I also forgot to add building fully upgraded starbases to protect its base and expansions.

true but it builds them in random shapes, never in a line which would deny access to a particular area. just randomly splashes them wherever it feels like.
