smf has an ipb converter, i already converted the forum content to smf. the problem is that the converter is written for an old version of smf. so i have to install the old version first, convert the stuff from ipb. then upgrade the smf to the newest version. it's a bit complicated. even more complicated as i want to install the joomla->smf bridge too and these database tables are of course not compatible with a non bridge version.
so it's quite problematic when i want to keep the old data as basicly i have to start again from the beginning more or less. but i will look into it. ;)

Bah Id rather have the old posts here. I mean we have come such a long way, its stupid to start all over again biggrin.gif

nonsense you just wanna keep your +2.000 post to show off how cool you are wink.gif
On Topic: Hmm i don't really mind if you kill all the posts (should be easier for you, since you don't need to migrate the mySQL data from one DB to the other;

The only thing i would request is, that you keep all the users+their profiles; i don't want to register at yet another forum Ty in advance

I dont actually care about my post count. What I dont want to do, however is debate ALL the ideas ALL over again :hmmm:

well, we could have a freash start yeah, but it makes the forums look more professional with lots and lots of posts, besides i know of more than 2 seperate sites that changed the forums (which were very well visited) and closed them down soon after, becuse people walked away.

I wouldn't worry to much, atleast their IPB conversion script is complete, their one for PHPbb was not. :(

looks great man! i'd prefer if the current posts and topics could be kept as like baron said we've come a long way and discussed a lot of stuff that new members would like to read about etc
