My honest opinion is that, ewm's contrived nitpicking notwithstanding, the buttons are among the most awesome buttons ever produced.

It is my humble opinion that the Collective features GUI Buttons are Outstanding!
even when veiwed at 400% Magnifacation.

The Scoutcube, the first Borg vessel after the Probe, is already at the level of other races heavy cruisers like Akiras. A sphere has no problem toasting Battleships.
The Borg Gameplay was adjusted to control only a few units, but focus much on them. Due to the collective features they offer much more special abilities per unit and you can customize your vessels via modules.
If you always loved to control one single ship in battle and care much for it, the Borg are your choice!

Sounds excellent! I'm such a player
How is this system related to the Avatars.... Do the Borg have Avatars left at all? (Or "Directives" so to speak)

yep the directives, divided into uni-matrixes, will serve as the Borg Avatars. They work the same as for all other races, except that a Borg Avatar usually features one new unit and one new module instead of 2 units.
The Avatars in v3 will be "Directive: Assimilation" and "Directive: Optimize". I don't have to tell you much about assimilation, i guess
. Optimize focuses on reducing the resource costs and speeding up advancing in the technology tree.

Will Borg still be able to assimilate special weapons, just like in the vanilla A2 ? After all, this is their philosophy, and I think their armada should reflect that. Their goal is to assimilate you, not blow you in pieces, and their weapons should allow them to do just that.
Congratulations for the mod, this is without a doubt, the most professional mod for a game ever to be released. Can't wait to play it.

Hi Emil and welcome to the forums
Nope, special weapon assimilation is not part of the new borg system, they will however be able to adap to enemies weapons due to their Adaptor vessel (their mixed-tech equivalent)

I see... And how strong is the probe? Does it match a destroyer/light cruiser like in Voy: Dark Frontier or is it weaker? (I'll assume it isn't stronger)

yep the probe can confront an intrepid and should win against other races standard destroyers

So, let me get this straight...
Borg scout ship: Equivalent to the light cruisers of other races.
Borg destroyer (I assume the scout-cube is a sort of destroyer equivalent): Equivalent to the heavy cruisers of other races.
Borg cruiser: More powerful than the battleships of other races.
Borg battleship: A match for entire fleets of other races.
Yea... That sounds about right...

OK so they can't "assimilate" technology but what's their mixed tech ship(s) if any? I would like to know how that should work out. This Addaptor vessel sounds intruging. Any more info? It seems mixed tech is a big part of FO in this new ver but I'd like to know how the Borg handles it since they are hell bent on just taking over.

instead of a mixed tech yard the Borg may build an Adaption Matrix (that acts as a repair station for assimilated vessels by the way. The Borg do not feature nor need repair yards). Once an Adaption Matrix of a specific race is present, Adaptors may be equipped with an Adaption Module of this race. The Adaption Module greatly reduces damage taken and increases damage dealt to vessels of this race. In Addition there is a chance to cause shield failures on hits (simulating shield-breaking weaponry).

Wow, that sounds incredibly intense. I can't wait!
