Upgrade Project: Ranged fighters

i was just wondering if theres any way to extend the range a fighter will stray from its guardian unit?

How do you mean?  You want them to not protect it or stay closer?

Yeah, consider them not protectors, but almost free units. in application the unit that launches them is a base, i need them to venture out to harass and patrol

hmm..... try adding replacementaction = 2 in the launching odf.  if it already has the line, change it from whatever number it currently is to 2.  if that doesn't work, try 1.

i was hoping for a  more specific command or reaction, the ranges i was thinking off were insanely huge

I believe that if you use this command, the ships will not stay near the ship they were launched from, but patrol the sector instead.  is that what you were looking for?

Well in short.... that didn't work, the replacement action command failed miseribly, BUT i discoveered a new way to acheive the desired effect. Changeing the AIProcess in the unit odf, not only does this relive the fighters of having to protect their base, it also lets me acheive a self-sustaning a.i. .one that capable of building its own units randomly without a build AIP, and thus making it near impossible to iraddicate all ai ships, since they will just build more,
