Milkshape can convert most standard 3d objects into .sod  even if you don't know how to use it, it is pretty easy to just click export assuming everything else is already done.

Okay, I'm in the process of mapping out the texture using the UVW Unwrap feature in gmax.  Is there a way to get gmax to export sort of a template of the ships wireframe to the texture so I can edit the texture in Photoshop?  I don't have Milkshape and I can't afford to unlock it at the moment.

By the way, what do I have to be able to do to join the fleet-ops crew?  Which I want to do.  I can already do the following:
Create some complex 3D models with Hardpoints
Place the texture onto the model with gmax UVW Unwrap
Edit the ODFs using other ODFs as templates.

heh, well to join the FltOps crew, I would say that all you need is to be asked, not volunteer.  :whistling: :sweatdrop:

and you don't need to unlock milkshape, you can do it with the stuff from ff.  Just download the old version, put the export plugins in, and just import it in a standard form, and export it in .sod form.  That is how I converted a thing or two.

once a model has a texture then u can edit the texture and the model would just refresh how it looks (u wont have to remap it) but i'd reconmend getting milkshape so the trial doesnot run out and possibly think bout getting ultimate unwrap as that can convert sods, mods and some other file formats with out messing them up

Here's a screenshot of the cruiser side-by-side with a Borg cube.

By the way, I'm creating the texture pixel-by-pixel.  Drawing a line along the wireframe using paint.  Is there a faster way to draw the wireframe onto a texture?

By the way, in the event that a Tereanan vessel fires upon another Tereanan vessel (class is irrelevant), the shields have to protect the Tereanan vessels from the Tereanan weapons even though the weapons will ignore non-Tereanan shields.  How is this possible?

Also, I want the Borg adapter to have a chroniton shield that only protects against Tereanan weapons, but not against non-Tereanan weapons.  How is this possible?

I don't think it's possible, weapons that ignore shields will always ignore them. I'd probably make the weapon do less damage instead.

Is that ship in the image a Tereanan cruiser or Voyager?

if it can destroy that cube then its probably voyager :D

im glad voyager never made it home in fo, imagine mayson's turret with transphasics. it would be so op.

even though nemesis ignored continuity by ignoring those super torps, im glad they did so, tranny torps would give feds instant victory.

That vessel is a Tereanan Voyager Class cruiser.  And no, it's no match for a cube.  A sphere maybe, but not a cube.  I got the geometry idea from the Federation Intrepid Class cruiser, which probably explains the similarities, but there are major differences between the two ships in terms of where things are and the size of the vessel.

Here's the cruiser compared to the Intrepid Class vessel.  The approximate scale anyways.  The texture on the Voyager Class vessel isn't complete yet.  The Intrepid model and texture is from the stock Armada 2 installation.

One of the most obvious differences is that the alien one seems to be a one-piece, not seperated into sections.

well, technically it isn't alien :D

Technically, it's also not Federation.
