Reattach cargo pods

I'm working on a mod that uses the Miranda pack from R5D5. For the freighter (Rana class) I want it to be able to do the same thing as the Klingon freighter (detach cargo pods to fire weapons) but I also want it to be able to return to a shipyard or mining station and have those pods reattached so it can continue mining. Just trying to get an idea of how it could work. I'll look at the weapon that detaches the pods and see if I can't get it to work in reverse. I'd like to see if I can make it available only within a certain distance from a shipyard or mining station. Any thoughts or ideas?

is it possible to make it so the ship is switched with a new one? (so sending it to the ship yard is technically decommissioning it and building a new one instantly? so you cant see the switch)

(it would have to have a button for repair like normal and a new one saying add pods but its a decomission button that replaces it with another?)

Reintegration is one of the things A2 is really bad at. I've experimented with fighters and other objects and never gotten anything to work without using the saucer seperation weapon(from stock), which looks really dumb. You might be able to get it to work though. :thumbsup:

The weapon is a replaceweapon granted via an extraweapon, with an animation - do the same for your 'reattachment' :)

Maybe I could use just a toggle weapon like the different modes for the dominion constructor. I could make a 'tactical' mode which enables a weapon and a 'mining' mode which disables the weapon and allows mining. How about that?
