Easiest way is to extract the ZIP file to a new folder, then copy over the extracted files (EPhas.odf and so on) to the folder I specified. Confirm that you wish to override (you might need to change the original files protection, if its set) and it should solve the problem with Terran Ships crashing the game (load one in a map editor and have it attack something to test it)

Could you please clarify the first bit?

Download the file
Extract the file to a folder of your choice. Anywhere will do. You should get several files, all starting with EPhas or EPhaso. These are the different phaser files for the Terran Empire.

Then copy these files to the directory I mentioned, overwriting the old phaser files.

By the way and I don't if you have or not but, perhaps the very 'dangerous' weapon from the Mirror could also field a randomized collection of the Terran warships that could come through (from the Escorts to what would be balanced (already loving the Dreadnoughts)) perhaps even the number as well (for the smaller vessels preferably.)

That is, of course, if the game can support it.

The bug with the quantum gate is um, a bit simpler than that I feel. I discovered in my latest tweaks that I forgot to alter some of the #includes on the Terran Phasers. The effect being that Terran ships crash the game when they try to fire. I was surprised it took this long for it to be noticed, but I suppose even in my testing, Terran ships are uncommon.

There is a quick bug fix. Put those files the Star Trek Armada II Fleet Operations\Data\Mods\KA2 EAW Standalone\odf\weapons\Phasers folder. Override the old Terran Phasers.

I'll keep plodding away at the new version. I will go through the ships today and continue the resizing i've been doing. Feds, Terrans and Klingons are done. I'll stop work on the Wiki for today, get the rest checked and rescaled if needed, then release the next version ASAP

I've been doing some testing with the quantumeffect special in the STA2 Classic mod for Fleet Ops, and surprisingly, I haven't encountered the quantumeffect crash yet. Fleet Ops may have fixed the bug with quantumeffect weapons at one point, although I'm not finding it in the release notes. I'll probably test it further, but in any case, it's good if it works. :lol:

I'll certainly look into seeing if I can randomise the ship coming through :)

I can't guarantee that patch will fix crashes with the Quantum Singularity, but I can guarantee it fixes the crashes with Terran vessels, which has to help :)

Just uploaded a proper, full patch to the ModDB site.

* Terran Ships no longer cause a crash when firing (issue with phasers fixed)
* Added Shuttlecraft for certain Federation and Klingon ships. These launch automatically, following their parent ship. Very light fighters basically.
* AI tweaks to (hopefully) make the AI build things slightly more sensibly
* New explosion effect and sound for stations
* Resized several Federation, Terran, Klingon and Romulan vessels
* New (KA Style) graphics for the QCB, CHRC and Tractor Beam
* New Starbase model for the Klingons
* Rebalanced fighter weapons
* Fixed several SOD issues
* New voiceovers for some Lyran vessels and Romulan Hero Unit RSE D'Meredene
* New disruptor textures

Righty, digging up an ooooold topic.

I'd say KA2 was done now. One final patch to iron out a few tiny bugs. It's a "inclusive" patch though, so, encompasses previous patches. I'll get that uploaded soon.

But, what I really wanted to announce was the sort of, semi-sequel to KA2. I've tentatively called it "KA3: The Lost Years". I'll make a new post about it shortly.

Digging up old topics you say...

I have used the 1.5 installer and am looking to add the patches.
Do I just dump the new files into the KA2 folder?
Overwrite or delete old files first?

You'll only need the V.1.52 Patch and a simple overwrite should do it

Yay! with the quality in KA2, I can't wait to see KA3! Will this be the Enterprise-C /Stargazer era?
