Concept A3 8472 AI

Hi all I'm doing the Sra'Xa'Diin race now and I would like to know what people would like the AI to use

I think you should do a mix likr the other races, but make it look like an alliance, not both ships building from the same kind of stations, but maybe have one starbase that builds constructors for both races.  Then you wouldn't need a real comprehensive techtree.  just make it look like you are facing two lesser races rather than one combined regular one.

Hmm... a binary techtree? The only issue is what will make it look like an alliance? Because if it i researching each other's tech. It would look quite ridiculous. However, I wa thinking about the possibility of having it like this... have both parts have strengths and weaknesses encouraging the use of both races.

This is a simple example of the idea. You should have both halves of the race have strengths where the other is weak. This way it strongly encourages construction of both techtrees. For instance, 8472 would have no support vessels, while Notexer would have at least 5 to choose from (all in different levels of tech). 8472 would have Fast ships, with strong weapons, but not so strong defense. The Notexer would have somewhat slower ships, not as strong weaponry, but great defense. 8472 could build quickly but at high cost, however, the Notexer you can build cheap, just have slower build speed. 8472 would have great efficiency in mining, the Notexer would not, however, would have the ability to convert resources to help maintain economy (this would count as a special station).

Basically what I am saying is that if you are to have a binary tree, you should give significant reasons for both to be used.

well the dual avatar will be an AI only avatar and i already have a background story that combines the 2 races together using info from a fan made 8472 history and chiletrek's own hhistory on 8472 for his old 8472 mod
