I Have ended up doing so many posts asking for help with this mod I have decided to make one post for me to use from now on when I am asking for help.

This mod is a port and a modification of the Babylon 5 Armada 2 mod to fit into the Fleet operations modification for star trek armada 2.

Development progress

-Faction: Earth Alliance
=Avatar: Babylon 5 League backed "99% Complete"
Advantages: Boosted Mining and 3rd Gate
Disadvantages: Long Build times
Cross tech advantage: White star "favors rangers and Minbari"
Why 99% for so long this faction needs the Minbari and rangers to be added.
=Avatar: Babylon 4 Earth force backed "99% Complete"
Advantages: Fast construction
Disadvantages: High resource demand
Cross tech advantage: X-Variation ships "Favors shadow and Borg"
Why 99% for so long simple this faction needs the shadows and Rangers to be added to the game.
=Avatar: Babylon 1-3 (Don't know witch) Survival "0% Complete"
Advantages: None
Disadvantages: You get one station that does every thing and you can only produce fighters.
Cross tech advantage: None
Why no advancement this project is on hold till the new Babylon station is made and finished.

-Faction: Species
=Avatar: Undine "97% Complete (AI is broken will be addressing this problem at a later date!"
Advantages: Speed and Fire power (Ported From Star Trek Armada 2 Classic.)
Disadvantages: Nothing
Cross tech advantage: None
Reason for first Avatar so AI would use this faction and meant to be played against as in AI controlled or when used to be VS 4 Merciless AI's or to blow off steam after a bad day.
=Avatar: Shadows "97% Complete (Death cloud is under debate right now it's in but is going to get edited!)"
Advantages: Stealth and Fire power
Disadvantages: Ships and stations are like glass.
Reason for second Avatar because the AI would fail to use the shadows correctly.

-Faction: Borg
=Borg Super cube "98% Complete"
Advantages: Holding beam, cutting laser, Regeneration, Boarding party's
Disadvantages: Single ship mode of play
Reason for this: Well I thought it would be cool plus it is meant to be used in a form of survival play or in 1 vs many factions.
Well this is almost done just have to do some description changes and it is addicting beyond belief to play as this borg cube.

-Faction: Galactic Empire
=Avatar: Super Star Destroyer (Lord Vader) "15% Complete"
Advantages: Ultra Mobile "As in no stationary Stations or facilitys."
Disadvantages: No cloak detection technology, No Jump gate technology and a lower level warp drive and lowest cargo capacity mining freighters when compared to all other factions.
Reason for this: I want the Super Star Destroyer avatar to handle like no other faction in the game.
=Avatar: Death Star (Emperor) "0% Complete"
Advantages: The most stationary structures of any other faction in the complete with orbital mining stations for all resources.
Disadvantages: Uses only empire standard ships, No cloak detection, No jump gates and slowest warp drive.

Other factions with planed advantages
Narn: Cheap and easy to produce tech with a dated feel.
Minbari: Cutting edge with long build times means you will need less to do what you can with the others.
Centauri: The Centarui will be on par to the Narn.
Vorlon: "Undetermined"

Other additions to this mod will be
-Faction: United Federation of Planets
=Avatar: Captain Kirk
Advantages: Ultra fast production of dated ships from classic 1701 through to Enterprise B or C.
Disadvantages: The ships will be of little effect against anything modern.
Cross tech advantage: Modern defenses or modern ships.

-Story line-
A rift across the space time continuum, Has brought together some of the greatest powers of all time into the same dimension of space and time.

More details will be released as development progress.

-What I need help with right now.
1: I need a new Babylon station modeled for me.
2: Also I need a new select all earth sod file made to reference the textures in the zip I have attached.
3: Advanced coding for in game when a ship is selected to be able to navigate the ship your self with the number pad when in cinematic view. "Please let me know if this can be done."

Hi. This is a very nice idea to made a new Babylon 5 mod for fleet Ops.
I've played with the mod made for ST Armada 2, but I managed to launch from the Fleet Ops Mod directory. There are 5 races. I liked the Babylon 5 series, I think the game is awesome. Yes, is a great idea to create a new mod.

Right now, I can't help you with your mod, because I'm working on a my StarGate Mod with 5 races: Ancients, Ori, Asgard, Asurans, Lucian Alliance. This is an update of the StarGate Rise to Power for Fleet Ops. If you are interested to play some of my mods, let me know :-)

What kind of Babylon station you need ? Can you attach some sketches or drawings ?

It should scale in the middle of Babylon 5 and Babylon 4, I think as long as you use Kavinveldar's art and the two screen shots for inspiration I think it should come out just fine.

Because this station is for a survival mode I need a unloading hardpoint at the rear and build hardpoint in the front loading bay plus a hardpoint schematic would be great.
That way I know where all the weapon harpoints are.

But I think Kavinveldar's art might have the panels in the wrong orientation because of the lack of them being seen in the explosion makes me thank they where going to be installed later and orientated in a similar fashion as Babylon 4.

Hi. You need a Babylon space station something between of Babylon 5 and Babylon 4 ?
If you use the Earth Alliance, you can use the Babylon 4 space station just fine :-).
For your mod, you use the original mod made for ST Armada 2 or you have your own models ?

Yes, it's possible to create something between the Babylon 5 and Babylon 4, creating a space station, put together like a logo :-)

For a little mod what I made, I used the Babylon 4, extracted from the ST Armada 2 mod.

I am using the original models from the Babylon 5 Armada 2 Total Conversion.
Because I don't have a 3D rendering program.

I want the station to look different because I already have Babylon 5 and Babylon 4 as Avatars.

If you look at the pics before it exploded The station did not have the zero Gravity loading bay on the top and it was colored red and grey and not Babylon 4 Green nor Babylon 5 Grey and Blue

Here is my first attempt to create a Babylon style space station. It's funny to put together some components to create something new.

The Bottom one Shall be the Babylon Station for survival.

Whilst very pretty, the cylinder bits are a bit high poly there for what they are :o You may wish to run DirectX Mesh Tools on it and just knock it down a notch. It should preserve the shape almost perfectly, but rationalise the polys a lot. Your choice though :) I am just an "old skool" modeller who remembers the days where shaving off every unnecessary poly was an absolute must in 3d modelling for games.

I've been browsing the hot-key list also known as the Input.map file I was wondering is there some way to set up an ability for you to select your ship then click on cinematic view then control your ship's navigation your self sort of like from Legacy and other star trek games.

Such as
num pad 8 for forward "speed up"
num pad 4 for Left
num pad 6 for right
num pad 2 for slow down

Let me know if this can be done.

The textured one, looks a bit huge and exceeded, but this is only a 3D model I tried adding some textures :-)

Hi. Here is the Babylon 6 space station textured with red and grey colors :-)

I tried to find some sketches of the base operating system, but all images are almost indecipherable. I would be interested in a sketch about where is located the station defensive weapons, to create the hard-points.

THE BABYLON STATIONS:

BABYLON 1, 2, 3

The information on the first three stations is sketchy at best. It is known that the first three stations were destroyed before there completion. Babylon 1 and 2 were each destroyed by either human or Minbari factions not wanting the stations to go online. Babylon 3 was destroyed by accident. The sizes of the stations are unknown, but it is known that they were not as big as Babylon 4. All evidence points towards the destruction of the stations at early points in their construction.

BABYLON 4 - Type: O'Neill Class Space Station

Length: 6km

Population: 500 000+

Location: 3hrs from Jump Point L-5 (Where Babylon 5 is stationed).

Defense Type: Extreme Defense Grid

Fighter Capacity: Unknown

Armament: Unknown (but all imprsessions point towards heavy duty weapons more powerful than that of babylon 5).


GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Parts from Babylon one, two and three were used for its construction therefore lessening its production cost. Babylon 4 made its first apearence in "Babylon Squared" in which it came back to unload the original crew ( 1300 of them ). It was seen again in the episodes "War Without End" part 1 and 2, at which time it was taken back by Jeffery Sinclair for a base of operations in the last Shadow War in which he gave it to the Minbari in his Minbari form of Valen. It did not survive all that long after the war.


BABYLON 5 / Type: O'Neill Class Space Station

Location: L-5 Jump Point

Population: 250 000

Defense Type: Heavy Defense Grid ( upgraded from the Light Defense Grid when the 'ground pounders' came aboard in the episode "Gropos" ).

Fighter Capacity: 4 fighter squadrons.

Armament:
6 Plasma Cannons
6 Rapid Cycling Projection Cannons
6 Intercepters
More interceptors (these interceptors are the light defense guns which seem to have not been removed upon B5's defense grid upgrade) Mine Launchers (though we have not seen these in acton they were mentioned in the episode "Gropos" where the B5 defense grid was upgraded)
GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Babylon 5 is the last of the Babylon stations. The stations were built for diplomacy and peace. Acting as trading centres ( with Babylon 4 also playing a serious military role ) the stations were considered important enough by many alien races to warrant their financial assistance. Even with the extra financial assistance Earth wanted to limit its funding for Babylon 5, and so therefore much of Babylon 5 has not been completed. In recent times B5 has become idependant and the base of operations for the forces of light.

Babylon 1 or as it's proper name is Babylon Station was shown in the show.
This web site has the two screen shots of Babylon Station when it was shown in the movie In the Beginning or the gathering I can't remember witch.

When I click on the upper photo before it collapsed and exploded I can see it has the zero gravity cargo bay on the bottom of the station mounted a bit farther back then B5 by the looks of it two the station was going to be more stream lined looking. with the rotational hanger part being a circle connected by a small neck.

The station was going to be red and grey as seen moments after the explosion when the forward section was flung into space.

As for the large panels that is common among all Babylon stations Based on the look of the station it was going to have a similar look to that of Babylon 4 except may be pointed back or a double set kind of like kavinveldar concept of Babylon 2 art has those panels pointed forward and backward.

Babylon 5: Babylon 5 was the final Babylon station constructed, with substantial assistance from the Centauri and Minbari governments.

Can't wait to see it done and in game animated with it rotating.
Also Given Babylon 1 was shown in the show to be Red and Grey, Babylon 4 is grey and green and Babylon 5 Blue and Grey.
May be it should another color.
