Mini canon mod - again

Yeah, unfortunately techtrees can't be made to have either/or requirements :sweatdrop:. However, you could simulate it by having a hidden button or something... though when you built both, then you'd get access to 'both' specials I think

What do you mean by coding special attack ODFs? :)

As for programs for hardpoint rotation: I'm not too sure since I don't officially mod - the one that the devs use works, 3DS I think, (though they have their own custom plugins). I believe that the standard hardpoint editors that are available will work, but it requires a lot of finagling to make sure the hardpoint has actually been rotated  :sweatdrop: . TUN has successfully accomplished this, so I know that it is possible without these custom things.

I know theres a way to do this, Ive seen it, but it was ages ago and I cant remember what the format used in the techtree file was.

Its possible it was 'weapon.odf 1 research1.odf research2.odf' and worked so as long as ONE Of the prerequesetites existed you could build it, but I cant even remember if that works much less if thats the method for doing this Im thinking of.

Hey, just a thought: why don't you devs implement this into the game. Maybe make it as an option. Pleeese

Because there are a lot more important things to do right now.

It would also rather dramatically change balance  ^-^

Hence the word option ;)

A closer to cannon setup for ships would be a neat option for those that want to play off of that, or just want to play SP.

Plus Megadroids working on script for a SFCish style RPG mission as well.

Well, if it's an option that doesn't need balancing, then by all means, install it :). Nobody is stopping you now afterall - that's what mods are for afterall  ^-^ . If it had to be officially included in Fleet Ops, it'd have to be balanced for multiplayer. It would of course also double the number of ODFs in the game as well  :woot:

ODFs are tiny :p .

And canon would actualy be easier to aim for, as you just balance the weapons, and balance ships by their non-combat stats plus the weapons they have.

8000+ ODFs are not :). That's why you get the pesky loadtime for both a game and for getting online. However, my statement was merely hypothetical  ^-^ If the devs would have wanted standardized torpedoes and other weaponry, they would have created the balancing tools to account for that in the first place B)

Meh, thats why I never really got into fleet ops MP, or playing un-modded.

it's purty, but in substence it's just another spam units, play rock paper scisors, spam some more type RTS, with a twist being that the mod devolped the game years later and made sense of some of the stupidity while the vanilla game made teh cash.

Admitedly, Armada itself was way worse, but yeah :p .
