first of all I have to figure out why they are not colored though. could that have anyhing to do with the autodestruct? I didnt really figure out where to delete stuff for that.
You have to remove the autodestruct from the odfs (mandatory) and the dynamics (optional, i guess)
to remove from the odf's (you have to go through all of them), search for the following lines
weapon# = "fed_destruct"
weaponhardpoints# = "root"
remove those upon find... in the valiants thing I believe its weapon4 and in the defiant's its weapon5
a common side effect is that at the veteran stage the Valiant shares the Defiants weapon, it may not appear. So that is what my version fixes, gives a working weapon in its place and makes the other one appear.

For the dynamics it is much easier.... just remove a couple lines in the tooltips that mention the Auto Destruct weapon.
