Miklos. How come you haven't tried contacting the various mod producers who might still have BSG related materials available??

Searching the net, you can found many BSG battleships for Star Trek Armada 2 and if you know how, you can convert it to be used for Fleet Operations.

The biggest ship in the BSG Universe is the Battlestar Pegasus. But for some unknown reason or because of the Cylons, somebody decide that this ship is not enough big against the enemy's . So, they decide to build a bigger ship and that one was the Battlestar Nova or using another name, the Prometheus. The Nova Class Command Battlestar is a new and experimental class of ship. Intended to be an upgrade from the Mercury class.

you don't make models Miklosgo, you take other peoples work and kitbash it, and rather poorly and that. You then act as if it is your own and don't give credit to where the original model comes from or the work you have borrowed from.

Is there really any need to be so confrontational?

I get where your going Miklos, but there is alot of unique content and ships which you can get hold of. I mean I've recently sorted out my own model selection with revamped textures so the quality is always seemingly improved. I mean. Don't get me wrong. I've made my own fair share of kitbashes in the past but there are times when doing a bit more hunting is worth it. If your converting your own models in this situation then look in my model repository archive (in my signature). All the colonial models I've done in the past use the same texture file so even kitbashing them should work well.

redmanmark. Seems your a bit on the negative side. What you don't seem to realise is that when one modder uses someone elses models for their own ends (be it direct usage or kitbashing) then there will always be someone else who will recognise it. Anyway. Kitbashing is usually a first step to a person taking on their own 3d modelling. So prey enlighten us as to what you have made that would constitute your negative tone.

Oh and the Prometheus isn't the largest battlestar thats been seen.......

This is an old image though. The textures been tidied up since this was rendered.

miklos, Coxxon's models and textures were where I started from for the BSG Half Race Mod. The textures are very good to begin with and they are an excellent jumping off point if you want some thing new. Coxxon's Bridge Commander models are fairly easy to convert to the SOD format as well. Again, they are a good start point for making something new and unique for your mod. Majestic over at MSFC has a few excellent Colonial ships. Stormryder over there made a Hades class Base Star, the one from the 1977 series, which I think very highly of. Chiletrek has a Raider from the 1977 series which is up to the usual impeccable standards of his amazing work. I added them both to my own game and have never regretted it. Never publicly released anything based on either though. Stormryder and Chiletrek did all that work, so I always felt they should get the recognition and applause publicly releasing such work really deserves.

Plenty of stuff out there I've seen which still has yet to be used anywhere.

Any idea where can I found the Borg assimilation beam ?
I want to use this just because I don't want to destroy the enemy ships.
I want to turn them on my own side. Thanks.

All do respect for the Battlestar Galactica ships makers. I don't want to steal anybody works at all.

I just thought to make something new, using parts from a ships. And that ships probably never will
be used in a mod. I make them, just all.

Anyway, I learn how to build my own 3D models for my Perry Rhodan mod using MilkShape 3D,
a very easy and useful software.

This Fleet Operations is a good and interesting game, I like to play it....

Probably I never will be a good modder like you guy's but I continue to play with Fleet Operations.
I discover that game a few years ago and I start to play but it was not enough for me so I start to
study and learn the modding techniques. And I start to build my own 3d models and put it in my own mod.
Yes, I works on a Perry Rhodan Mod for fleet Operations. That's my work because I like the
Perry Rhodan Adventure and I thought to make a mod for myself and maybe for other players.

I know Major A Payne, he is probably the best modder and all the respect to him
and anyway I don't want to become a better modder then Major A Payne or the other Veterans.

I'm just playing Fleet Operations and modding for myself just because you know I don't have
any benefit after this all work what I made. But yes, I have a benefit, because I learned
many new things regarding how to mod a game.

Who knows, maybe I'll find another game and I start to mod that game and cancel everything regarding Fleet Ops.
Anyway, in this life are more important things to do. Summer comes and and I intend to travel a lot around the country and abroad.

I know only you guy's and I like to talk with you. Thanks guy's.

Something else, regarding the BSG mods made by fans, there always is a problem.

"NBC Universal, who sent a cease-and-desist over to ModDB, which had been hosting the work on it. And 19 other BSG mods. All have been wiped out. "

Okay, I apparently misunderstood what you are doing. I thought you were looking for new meshes for a mod for public release. My bad, lol. Since you're doing all this for yourself (Best way to mod, IMO) with no release intended the sky's the limit.

I tried out BSGO. I wasn't all that impressed. Especially when I saw how quickly the game was trying to dig into my wallet.
I don't mind someone turning a profit off a game. I just see no good reason for them to try and maximize their profit all in one shot with me. I just wanted to play a BSG based online game, not pay off the National Debt all by myself, lol.

Hi Thunderfoot006. Thank you for understanding. No way, I don't make mods for public release. I just mod this game for myself and for some friends. Like I told before, I like to learn everything about programming / modding a game, in this case the Fleet Operations. I already found a 2D space strategy game and wish to learn that how to make a mod for that game. I'm doing that in my free time because on the rest of my time I work at my job full time :-) So, I'm not interested to sell any of my mods, I make them just for fun :-)

Live long and prosper, my friend.
