Transwarp Gate

Again with bein a newb sorry and i have seen that this has been brought up before from doin a few searches but an effective and working transwarp gate that can be added to borg build list how and what would be the best way to go about it? i know that in theory if u wanted u could create a map and put derelict gates in a sealed base in map editor but for me sometimes thats just fun or if you are playin as the borg it just dont seem the same not havin it there as an option

Basically, all youve got to do is go to the borg build and insert the transwarp file into it. Youd probably need to copy it from A2, but it might still be lying around in Fleetops still. Its too bad it was taken out though, I for one thought it wasa unique feature of Borg play, and not even nearly as damaging as the other A2 specials like the temporal and subspace ships, was alot of fun to have

been busy since i first put this post up new job moving house and a med research study lol i have the odf file for the transwarp portal from armada 2 i'm having a bit of teouble finding where the borg build list is so i can put the transwarp gate odf in it for me to build, i know its curse of the newb lol

The Borg build list is borg_instant_action_build_list.aip

I think he's talking about the ODF files that contain the buildable items.

Ah, those would be your bor_assembler files - X, Y, and S .odfs.

I think the avatars are Y and Z, not X and Y.

ok heres a quick mini mod that adds the a2 transwarp gate have fun with it (its wireframe and build button needs redoing as there just stock a2 also the gate looks very green lol)

when i replaced all the odfs in the folder and went to save the file it wont let me it says cannot create file and access is denied, anyone any idea what i'm doin wrong that i cant save the changes i make. ok sorted that prob just saved the file elsewhere then replaced the existing odf with transwarp one. only prob i'm having now is when i am in map editor the transwarp gate isnt comin up on the build list under the borg, i presumed it should be available under the optimise or assimilate avatars

when i go into multiplayer the option to build the transwarp gate is there so if anyone can help me to get it into map editor it would be most appreciated

ok so prob solved all you have to do is put a borg assembler as a derelict on your map board it and hey presto u have the option to build a transwarp gate

massive thanx blade for the file gonna keep me amused for a few hours anyway lol

ok only snag i'm hittin now is i need to remove the borg officer collective uplinks things so that it can be built once u take a derelict over. i've been thru the odfs but not having much luck anyone any ideas again where i'm goin wrong

Two things.  Try selecting a different avatar from the start,(you should be able to build it then) and in the odf for the station, just find the officercost and make it 0.
