I'm building two station types that are very powerful stations.  One of which can recharge allied special energy from a great distance, and the other is just an over-powered starbase.  I can't decide how to balance the maximum number of stations that can be built.  Except for the one that recharges special energy takes up a lot more slots than the over-powered starbase does.  Here are the names of the stations:

Singularity Generator - Sort of like the Romulan station but with far greater range.  On smaller maps, only one is.  On larger maps, more will be required.

Defense Station - It's sort of like a starbase, but it lacks the transwarp technology of the starbase and has a whole lot more armor, shields, and firepower.

The singularity generator will take up a lot more slots than the defense station, but I'm not sure how to balance it out.  Even after building a singularity generator, users should still be able to build the defense station.  The problem is, I'm not sure how many defense stations to allow after the maximum singularity stations have been built.  And I'm not sure how many singularity stations I should allow.

If they're that powerful, then 1 Uberbase and/or 2 Generators sounds fair.

How are 10 super station slots with the singularity generator taking up 4 of them and the defense station taking up 1 of them?

I would think 2 and 2 would be best balance wise. You can op for 1 special energy and 3 ubers. But not 3 special and 1 uber. If you think about the math for setting that up go for it. No way I'm plunging into math again not after last week...

Okay, then the Defense Station will take up 1 slot and the Singularity Generator will take up 2 slots.  There will be a total of 5 slots available.  Which means, if you build two Singularity Generators, you can only build 1 Defense Station.

What about the resource replicators.  I was thinking about making Supply Replicator and Tritanium Replicator stations and making it so that the mining freighters can only mine Dilithium.  This would make the Tereanans more Dependant on Dilithium expansions and replicator stations.

Supply Replicator:
Uses 1 Dilithium unit for every 4 Supply units replicated.

No Upgrades:
Consumes 1 Dilithium unit every 4 seconds.
Produces 1 Supply unit every 1 second.

First Upgrade:
Consumes 1 Dilithium unit every 2 seconds.
Produces 2 Supply units every 1 second.

Second Upgrade:
Consumes 1 Dilithium unit every 1 second.
Produces 4 Supply units every 1 second.

Tritanium Replicator:
Uses 2 Dilithium units and 1 Supply unit for every 4 Tritanium units replicated.

No Upgrades:
Consumes 1 Dilithium unit every 2 seconds.
Consumes 1 Supply unit every 4 seconds.
Produces 1 Tritanium unit every 1 second.

First Upgrade:
Consumes 1 Dilithium unit every 1 second.
Consumes 1 Supply unit every 2 seconds.
Produces 2 Tritanium units every 1 second.

Second Upgrade:
Consumes 2 Dilithium units every 1 second.
Consumes 1 Supply unit every 1 second.
Produces 4 Tritanium units every 1 second.

Should I make just the supply replicator and have the mining stuff capable of mining Dilithium and Tritanium or make both replicator stations and have the mining stuff capable of mining only Dilithium?  Or should I make both replicator stations and have the mining stuff keep their ability to mine Dilithium and Tritanium?

I think the station should be a secondary mining station like the Dominion have the mining direct to supply station. It would be the same concept but upgradable.
