Sod Editing Question

I currently work on the Cardassian Mining Station for the FO Addon Mod The Final Frontier and i have a small question. I use 3dsMax5 and i would liek to make a part of the sod transparent. How i can do that and of course that this transparency are also ingame.

thanks....but i try to make the parts semi-transparent.

try toggeling the "opacity" box to color or back to number when exporting from max, in order to have it use alpha as transparent.
