replace weapon and other weapons

can the replace weapon be used to activate other weapons (eg a replaceweapon is used to create a nebula sod but also to activate a cloaking device)

a perfect cloak idea...a blank sod...that has a hierarchy and hardpoints...you activate the replace weapon and the ship becomes instantly invisible...at least to the player...but can still fire weapons...an intriguing idea..if i do say so myself...don't know if it can work..but its worth a shot....

I always wanted to have a sort of stealth field weapon that basically creates a nebula around the ships that hides the ships but disables sensors. Thought it would make a great feature for an alien race that used this instead of turrets in their base.

the idea came when i was trying to fix the species 8472 nebula generator weapon (as it does not work in fo3.1.1) as atm i just use the station cloak

Keep in mind that if a SOD has no mesh, only HPs, you won't be able to highlight it in the game!

well if u want an invisable highlightable so you can make a sod give it a texture that has a 100% black alpha channel and export as a1 format that way it will be invisable a1 thats how a1 renders the black sections of the alpha

and....that will also allow it to be shielded....but the AI will still be able to see it....it won't recognize that it's 'cloaked' because according to the game mechanics it won't be lol

yh i know this idea wasnt for perfect cloak but for the 8472 neb generator from a2 as it dsnt work in fo i just wanted to know if u can make a replace weapon to also trigger a special weapon from the ship (or a special weapon that also triggers the replaceweapon) as atm i'm using the romulan station cloak which has a similar effect that the orig weapon had but not exactly the same

nope replace weapons cant trigger other weapons on a ship, they just create or replace the crafts  ^-^

Aww that's too bad.  If replacemweapon cuold actually also replace the weapon effect there could be much more flexibility in special weapon creation.
