I was think about how I would create the Galaxy EVO odfs, and I realized a problem.  Is there an odf command that says something like keeprank 1, so when the ship separates, it keeps the rank of the ship it separated from.  Does anyone know if there is any such command?

Check the Saber Class, it's special changes from regular to 'Hyper Impuse' without losing rank.

ah, I'll check.  What about the Prometheus, is there a line like that for its mvam?

What you're gonna need is all of the odfs then something like this in your replaceweapon:
replacement0condition0 = "fed_galaxyevo"
replacement0class0 = "fed_galaxyevosaucer"
replacement0class1 = "fedgalaxyevoengineering"
replacement0condition0 = "fed_galaxyevor2"
replacement0class0 = "fed_galaxyevosaucerr2"
replacement0class1 = "fedgalaxyevoengineeringr2"
etc.
This will give you the effect you want.

You also have to do something about the ship reconnecting with both halves at a different rank.

well, I know I can do that, but I was thinking of something that wouldn't make me have to write 18! Different Odfs.

Oh, and I wasn't going to give the halfs the ability to rank up if I didn't have to.

If you don't have the seperate halves ranking up, you just need one replaceweapon to seperate in all the 'combined' ranks odf's, and one with all reintergration in all the 'seperated' parts.

I'm not too sure about the reintergration, but I'm sure you can get the seperation for all ranks with one odf.

yes, I see now how to do it.  Now is the question: Should the other halfs rank up, and how do I get them to re integrate to their origional rank if they only have one odf each.  I think I am going to have to write those odfs.  :crybaby: ah, well.

if only I had help with those stinking tool tips...

I would keep them the same. It could get very...complicated.

Imagine if I tried that with the Prometheus...

I'm sorry I'm confused...the same as what?  Should I write 18 odfs, with Seperated halfs that can't rank up, but keep the rank of the original unit, or 8 odfs, with 2 half's that can't rank up and don't have ranks that corrispond with their origional unit.  I don't think the second one is possible.

Keep them the same...as in, don't let them change rank when seperated. Both halfs are the same rank as the original, and rejoin at the same rank.

The second one is possible, if you are fine with losing it's rank every time you seperate.

lol, unless...I copied the original odf, 6 times, only changing the rank level and the name.  that would work.

The best option is to make the higher ranked half overwrite the lower ranked half. I could handle that if you wanted...

and i could do those stinking tooltips too... :D
