I was wondering if there is a way to remove a race from the algorithm the engine uses when selecting a random race? For example, I almost always play as the Federation and set the AI to Random. I would like to be able to eliminate the Federation as a possible choice for the AI.

Is this possible?  :sweatdrop:

Dunno.  I'd love to eliminate Borg as an option when I random myself :D.

Not quite the answer you're looking for, but if you want a quick work around for right now, do random, and then once in game you can hit esc and view the admiral's log.  It will tell you what faction you're playing with and can quit if it's the feds.  Granted, you know ahead of time what you're playing against, but you would have anyway with your scout. :D

This would aslo be good in a game where we were all random but want no feds or say rommulan/dominion.

I think it has been proposed before, but I can't recall if an answer is given. Most of the options in that menu are hard-coded I believe, so it is quite difficult to add new ones I think  :sweatdrop: . Still doesn't stop me from saying that it would be an awesome idea  :woot:

A selection "Anything but X" makes sense, and it might be feasible.

Then my "Random" selection would become "Anything but Federation". :)
