Every time the AI recalculates its strategy and sends out its next attack wave, it destroys all of its ships that have disabled engines.  I wonder if that process could be tapped since it doesn't rely on the weapons working.

Then make this auto self destruct some kind of expensive investment which you have to research as part of your anti-borg build order.

What if you had a sabotage button, It had a radome effect.

Positive out comes.
1. the ship Self Destruct.
2. it fires a shot at a near by fridley ships confusing friendly ships for a cupel of secs.
3. the ship kills crew and becomes derelict agin.

Negative. sabotage fails.
1. enemy gets to see the space yard where ship was made for a few secs.
2. the ships get resestons to weapons of its one race.

I asked how I would implement such a system, not if it was balanced or not.  We can talk about balance after it's been proven to work.
