So I"m converting my mod to 3.1.2 and its not working well. I have gotten the ships and everything in the game, but I have 2 problems
1. if I try to select my race it crashes, but the AI can play it just fine. I can add all my items via map editor, but when I try to play the race it crashes Does anyone know something that changed in the last patch that might explain this. Devs?
2. Most of my weapons won't fire. Infact, all the ones using the cannonimp label won't. the regular weapons will, but anything using that label won't work. I even have a cannonimp>UniTorpedo using a SOD base and it won't work. Its not that it crashes, they just won't fire. What is the problem, anyone know? Could it be a problem with the ship odfs, or just a new line I"m missing? Again, Devs?

With reguards to weapons not firing, this is due to the infamous non-existing hardpoints in the hardpoint line. If there is no existing hp to shoot from, it won't shoot.
As with reguards to crashing races, it may be because the 'displayname' is refering to an non-existing tooltip line. I suggest that you fix this. Also the button slot code needs 2 b there.
slot 0 = first race
slot 1 = second race
slot 2 = third race
and so on.
No two races can share names, it'll kill it.

Heh, yeah, I understand all that. I think you mis understand my problem. My mod is a full race addon. it worked on 3.1.1, but as I"m trying to convert it to 3.1.2 it does not work. It is not fundamental things like hardpoints because it did work in 3.1.1. Its something that changed in this patch that messed with it. I"m having some luck, but it still isn't working and if I fix something I don't know what it is that I did...

nope there are no fundamental changes concerning the races. you must have missed a file to copy

Hmmmmmm... Well, Nothing explains the selection problem yet, but I think I have figured out the weapon odfs. Though they worked in 3.1.1, it seems that after re organizing them and removing some code that didn't need to be there they seem to work fine. I guess they are just more picky now
